CSB alert: The smartest student in my class failed the second test of the course and he admitted that he didn't study for it. Since then he has scored the highest on every test and has the highest GPA. But he is ineligible for top grad because he failed a test.

One could make a pretty good argument that they were very fortunate to even play in the Sugar Bowl considering they did not even play in the SEC championship.
