Why is the South Carolina football program such a dud?

Even in their better years when they over perform and go 8-5 like this season - they're a huge bucket of blah.
It's a stale, bottom feeder program that's only won 10 games or more in 4 of their 115 seasons playing football.

This is objectively misleading. If the litmus of being a dud is not winning the NC then Alabama has been a dud 85-90% of the time in the history of CFB. And Nick Saban has been a failure 75% of the time as a HC. You good with that assertion?

Missouri has won the East more than South Carolina.
Has to be tough for SC being the 4th best program in the area out of UNC, Clemson, NCST and them.

A "dud"? Nah....I'll never bash South Carolina. Those games we have with them is fun, interesting, mind-numbing, anxiety-ridden, headache inducing 3 plus hours of "what-the-hell was that?"
They played very well against a very good Notre Dame team. They played better Florida, Ole Miss, for sure Mizzou, and not to take anything away from Arky, but Notre Dame is better team than kansas. It sucks they lost, but well, half the teams that play in bowl games do.
