A healthy KJ Jefferson against LSU and we are in the SEC championship game

In retrospect since LSU lost to A&M if they would have also lost to Arkansas we would have won the west. Arkansas almost beat LSU with a third string QB and would have almost certainly won with a healthy KJ Jefferson. Crazy how one small thing can make such a big deal.

We had no excuse losing to a team that almost lost to Arkansas. And Auburn. And Mississippi State.
And got run out by aTm.

We should have beaten them, but this season was sort of the perfect scenario for Tennessee and LSU. Both got to play us at home with huge losing streaks to us motivating their players, and with Bryce still not recovered from a hurt throwing shoulder. We had a lot of other things working against us this year, too. Mac Jones covered a lot of our deficiencies in 2020, and Bryce last year, things that should have been addressed were allowed to fester.

If Bryce Young doesn’t get injured, Bama is more than likely undefeated (until the SECCG at least).

I agree. I think too many people are underestimating how big an effect Bryce’s injury had on his play. Many want to blame receivers for not getting open but Bryce wasn't able to put the ball on anyone over 15 yards away. There were some passes in the LSU game the barely made it or skipped off the ground. Last year those passes would easily be completed.

The LSU loss is on the defense.

Both losses are on the defense.

Idk. Bryce’s intercepted pass on the first drive pretty much set the mood for that game. Not to mention the two failed 2 point conversion attempts, but that’s on coaching. In the Tennessee game, Bama punted quite a bit in the first half.

The offense left the field with the lead twice in the 4th quarter against LSU and in OT, defense couldn’t hold any of those leads.

Both sides are equally responsible for the losses. You can argue either way. It all comes down to the coaching. I just know our odds would’ve been much better with a 100% healthy Bryce.

Wasn’t the 52 points allowed at Tennessee like a school record or something?

The defense gave up 48 points to Ole Miss in 2020 and won the national championship.

BY injury had more to do with it than anything. He missed a good bit of that game. There are a lot of things that caused the 2 losses in addition to the BY injury. The bogus pass interference call at the end of the Tn game cost us that game.
