Is Pete Golding evidence that the decline at Bama is FINALLY a thing? (Not trolling)

Yes, I know the Bama decline isn't a new topic here but for the most part the previous threads either started or went straight to the sewer without any real discussion. So, please save the trolling for another time.
What's most glaring is I cant imagine the Saban of 5-10 years ago putting up with the poor performance of his coordinators, glaringly that of Pete Golding and the defense. This was a program that was built on defense and was considered to have the best defense in the country year in and year out for close to a decade. Its not so much that the defense is horrible (it isnt) but rather how far they have fallen off.
Bama fans, correct me if I am wrong on this. Saban went from the de-facto coordinator with Steele and Kirbys first few years, to giving Kirby more control, to completely turning the defense over to Kirby. He brought in Golding and seems to have given him total control from Day 1. Has Saban reached the point in his career where he is unable (age? motivation?) to take that unit back over to at least some extent?
If Saban does not fire Golding in the offseason, are Bama fans worried that he is losing the edge/motivation that made him so damn successful and there is finally some substance to the decline talk?

Not sure why you would think Saban isn't and hasn't been heavily involved in the defense.
Looks to me like they just tried some new shite that didn't work out this year.

If he keeps both coordinators, I think we're definitely near the end. If he keeps one for another year, maybe. If he fires both, I think he's still got it.

That did not happen.

You mean like running a 1-5-5 hybrid defense against teams that could run the ball? Yeah, there's no way Saban wasn't in on that.

BoB is a much bigger problem than Golding.

They're both terrible. We can overcome one of them, but not both. Hopefully they're both gone.

Because the Bama defense looks and plays nothing like it did in the past.

Like I said, I am no expert on the level of control Saban exerts over the defense, but something definitely changed with that unit when Kirby left and with a few exceptions, it has gotten progressively worse. Again, its not like the defense sucks, but the decline from the peak has been substantial.

It’s not really a decline as much as it is CFB evolving offensively and A1 fans still think it’s 2009-2012. It’s the arrogance that blinds them on realizing others have joined the party.
A1 defense stats nationally
Scoring - 10th
Rush - 30th (Auburn inflated that #)
Pass - 17th
Total - 15th
3rd down - 9th
Redzone - 18th
SEC rank
Score - 2
Rush - 3
Pass - 3
Total - 2
3rd - 2
Golding has done a damn good job and deserves more respect from that entitled spoiled fanbase.
To the ones that blame BOB
National
Scoring - 5th
Rush - 29th
Pass - 23
Total - 14th
3rd - 24th
SEC
Score - 2
Rush - 7
Pass - 4
Total - 4
3rd - 4
Bob deserves more respect for the tremendous job he’s done.
“We have the 15th ranked D and 14th ranked O in the nation…our coordinators suck”
Also, A1 has no path to CFP. Cry some more

Saban has always been the alpha on the defensive side of the ball. He hired OCs who could challenge his schemes. He’s never hired a big name DC while hiring well known OCs.
BoB’s schemes don’t challenge Bama’s defense in practice. Thus, the defense is not prepared for games.
Still, I’d like to see Golding replaced with a known DC

I hate BoB with the heat of the sun due to what he did to the Texans, and he sucks at his job, but that offense is not their main problem. Saban won numerous titles with offenses much less efficient.

Because the offenses have changed.
Alabama's 2011 defense would give up even more points. The game has changed.
What they did this year just sucked, I hope Saban corrects it.

Kirby has been gone for 7 years, and our best defenses were under Pruitt.

Even so, you guys went from the best defense in the country to above average/average compared to peer teams.

Yeah, I fricked that up. Completely forgot about his stretch with you guys.

I really thought you guys would cruise to 15-0 this year, the pieces were all there. For the first time in forever, it seems there are legit concerns as it applies Bama expectations. And to keep this real, as an LSU fan, I would kill to have Bama's "problems".

So tired of this BS...Pruitt was as good, if not better than Smart. Alabama fans were getting tired of Kirby's defense as it routinely got torched by mobile QBs. The term "3rd and Kirby" didn't appear out of nowhere.
"The decline" is the result of one person....Pete Golding

Yeah, Ive already said I messed that up by forgetting about Pruitt. Regardless the point was the performance of the defense since Golding was hired.
