Ish Harris was kind of an undersized linebacker project that didn't really fit DJ Durkin's system so it isn't really a surprise that he's entering the portal but he liked and retweeted the below Tweet on his way out:

That mindset will definitely be a thing nationwide with NIL deals.

The only schools that should care are the poor ones that can't afford it. You know, like when LSU had Perkins make videos begging for NIL money?

Lots of players will enter the portal even if they have no interest in leaving so that they can get NIL bribes to stay.

I think he was going to be good. He was fast. Made a nice play or two a week ago. He will definitely be a plus to anyone needing fast blitzing linebackers.

Harris was a three-star LB recruit who did not see game action in 2022 despite starting LBs Andre White and Edgerrin Cooper missing multiple games due to injury. Had he stuck around he likely would’ve had a shot to complete next season.

It’s relevant to point out that none of the three defenders who have announced their transfers this past week (LB Ish Harris, DE Donell Harris, DE Elijah Jeudy) recorded a tackle this season. At least so far, these transfers seem to fall into the run of the mill “players looking for playing time” bucket rather than the “sky is falling Jimbo has lost control of the program” variety.

It was inevitable; I wish nothing but the best for all three players.

FYI you can add RB L.J. Johnson (Good Bull Hunting) to the list:

quote:

The transfer announcements continue to roll in following the conclusion of Texas A&M’s disappointing 5-7 season. But luckily for the Aggies, none of the departures so far have come from a starting player. The latest transfer comes from RS freshman running back L.J. Johnson.

After redshirting in 2021, Johnson was deployed primarily as a short yardage by at A&M in 2022, tallying 39 yards and scoring two touchdowns in 10 carries this season. Johnson appeared to cede primary backup duties to sophomore Amari Daniels and freshman Le’Veon Moss. While running back depth is thin for the Aggies in 2023 (assuming the departure of junior Devon Achane), Johnson was going to have a difficult time carving out a starting role, which is likely what led to his departure.

He is joined in the transfer portal this week by DE Donell Harris, DE Elijah Jeudy and LB Ish Harris. Similarly to Johnson, none of these players were expected to be starters in 2023.

This is the stuff that will make the bag men realize what a bad investment NIL is.

A real person in the business would know the details and provide the context for how the A&M deals are structured. It’s out there yet you always leave that part out.

Such a shitty “in the business” poster.

What does “got the bag” mean?

Maybe “got paid?”

**First of all, I’m not surprised this fricking wanna be insider troll found one little crumb to chew on after we beat the breaks off of his pretending arse playoff team.**

However,

There were a couple of players (some in 2022 class) that foolishly decided to quit on their team when the going got tough. Had they stuck it out, they would have been starting at some point during the season. I don’t want to call them out by name (LJ Johnson cough cough), but I know of 2 or 3 that are done as in “NOT welcomed back”. This is essentially your run of the mill “we suck complete arse this year” or “I’m not instantly first string” quitters and transferees. NIL or no NIL, you have quitters and fighters on every team when times get tough.

What sidewalk left out (shockingly) is that a ton of the core group of that 2022 class have been tweeting out how they are family and locked in. How they wanted to beat LSU for the SENIORS, and how they don’t plan on losing to LSU while they are at A&M. This includes Weigman, Walter Nolen, Evan Stewart, Bryce Anderson and more.

If you want to highlight the bad with this season, there is plenty of it. There will be players come and go. However, I am very pleased with the ones that I know are staying. We will ride with the ones we got.

I noticed you seemed to have missed the following tweet, thought you covered all players on your secret favorite team. What gives sidewalk? doesnt fit the narrative?

FYI everyone that is going into the portal is not looking for money. Sorry that might seem unimaginable. Change of scenery is great for some. But not me.
