I agree that traditionally that is they way it's done but personally I feel like that is making it a runner-up award. Seeing coaches with multiple championships but on one COTY is silly.
maybe, but Kirby was expected to win the East and maybe lose 1 game
Kelly, Huepel and Beamer all came in and far exceeded expectations; especially considering their rosters - tat should be a bigger criteria for COY

He sure did better than Kirby’s first year
Is BK’s success due to his coaching skills or is it attributed to the West being down this year?

Kelly's done after that shitshow last night. My vote goes to Beamer.

Has to be Jimbo. In year 5 to be able to beat LSU like that is just incredible. The future is bright in college station.

The only names that should even be considered are:
Huepel, Smart or Kelly.
The recency bias in college football is so weird to me. You all understand Beamer was the coach at USC when they lost to Arkansas, Mizzou, and Florida.

Do you mean Kirby's 1st year ever as a head coach versus Brain Kelly's 31st? He has been a head coach since 1991.

According to preseason Vegas win totals, Huepel exceeded expectations more than Kelley and Beamer.

Kirby deserves it, but won't get it. Heupel is the best of the rest. Did a great job this year

Not saying you're wrong but switch rosters and how would the two coaches fair?

10-2 record in 2nd year.
Finished season 2nd in final SEC standings.
Going to NY6 Bowl.
This is pretty amazing considering what Heupel took over. He took over a 3-7 team, that had 31 transfers, Under NCAA investigation, and scholarship restrictions as self imposed penalties. UT was the hardest job at the time he took over. Haven’t had a 10 win season since 2007 and he does it in his 2nd year. What he has done is pretty remarkable considering what he had to deal with when he arrived.
We rewrote your history books. We'll let Heupel come watch Beamer get the award tho. Yall can come watch the playoffs with us and bring clem with ya, too. Since ain't neither of yall going, either.

Heupel, Kelly, Smart, and Beamer must be the candidates

Uh Kirby MF Smart.
The only question left is how many decades you let him drag nuts across your face?

This was an unequivocal rebuilding year for UGA, namely on the defensive side of the ball.
Not taking away from Beamer’s bad arse final 2 weeks. I’m in awe actually.
