Cohen playing 4D chess to destroy his school’s rival…
“Leak” info that Kiffin is AU’s #1 target while it’s actually a surprise candidate.
Keep the drama swirling and distract the OM program.
Turn Ole Miss fans against Kiffin who think he’s lying about not taking the AU job.
OM flops in Egg Bowl because distraction is too much.
OM tired of Kiffin and want him gone.
AU hires someone else so Kiffin and OM are stuck with each other (after Kiffin is given huge extension).

I'll say it again.
Cadillac deserves a shot. I'm sure that he'd sign a one year, very reasonable contract for the opportunity to show his worth! The players love him!
The fans love him!
His personality would produce an excellent recruiting class!
Hell! With some success, Auburn would be touted as one of the most innovative, socially conscience schools in the country!
There's a ton to gain, and little to lose!
Cadillac deserves a shot. I'm sure that he'd sign a one year, very reasonable contract for the opportunity to show his worth! The players love him!

I’d love for Caddy to be HC at Auburn when he’s ready, but that’s a big question right now. Better to let him get more experience than to have a trial by fire that could diminish his potential.

Seems pretty obvious at this point that Kiffin is gone.
I’ve had my fun trolling and at this point I’m honestly curious - are Auburn fans excited?
I think it’s a point of contention right now that Ole Miss fans are over Kiffin while Auburn fans are excited about him. Both can be true at the same time (and based on his consistent actions in the past, it stands to reason that Auburn fans will feel the same in a few years).

Nobody has ever gone the route you are suggesting, and my guess is your suggestion is for Bama. Right now Williams is a hero for the program, but if he coaches next season, he will become the next Mike Shula. Nobody wants to shoot their hero's down.

I have zero insight but it almost feels like AU is waiting to see how the iron bowl turns out before moving forward? Why? Because that’s the kind of thing AU does. I’d be shocked if they announced a new HC the day before the game. They obviously don’t want to steal any of the shine from coach Lac, especially if he somehow finds that auburn magic and pulls out an improbable win in T Town tomorrow.
Doesn’t mean they’ll make him the coach, but they do want to be able to tell the story without a new HC jammed into it the day before the game.
