Auburn fans, are you jealous that Tenn is moving on and getting a new coach, or do you think that is too risky? Do you wish the news was that Tuberville will step down? Or do you want Tuberville to stay? Are you worried that Tennessee will scoop up a better coach that you have?

Tennessee is willing to pull the plug on a coach who brought home a National Championship....Tubby is getting a lot of mileage out of his 6 straight over Alabama. To Auburn, those feats appear to be identical.

What if they take an up and coming offensive coordinator that Tubby is looking at to replace, if Tubby stays. Does that make it harder next year on Tubby then?

Not really, if we are going to make a change we are going to make a change. Nobody is going to hire a coach untill after the season anyway...and its not like there aren't ways to talk to prospective coaches through back channels if we have decided Tubs is gone(insert jet gate joke here). The odds of Tennesse and Auburn A) deciding the want the same head coach and B) getting in a bidding war over him are slim to none anyway.

Not at all jealous. Tubbs is probably getting more milage out of 50 wins the last 5 years, the only undefeated season in the SEC this decade, and a winnning record against every team in the SEC (except LSU) during his tenure than 6 wins on a pitiful second rate Bama team. That is kinda irrelevant - it has been a bit like beating Vandy this decade.

I hope Tubs is back next year and we make a solid hire at offensive coordinator and let him bring in whoever he needs to. I think that would be the best case scenario at this point for AU.

Well, that is just a retarded piss poor comeback. How many top 5 rankings has Bama had this decade? How many top ten finishes? How many top 20 (1-2 vs almost every year for AU)? How many games has Bama won vs how many has AU won? How many SEC teams does Bama have a winning record against? How many 5-6 loss seasons (almost every year vs once for AU)? Sorry, but comparing AU to Bama this decade is comparing one of the worst teams in the SEC to one of the best. There is no comparison and as much as Bama likes to think beating them has been meaningful, it has not. It just is something to shut up the incessant mouth running for no reason that has become Bama football.

And yet the first (and sometimes only) stat or accomplishment ever uttered regarding Tubby's reign on the Plains is his win streak over what you admit has been a pathetic Bama team. Interesting.

And for all of Auburn's "accomplishments" in that time period, they have put the exact same amount of trophy's in the case as Alabama has, in the worst decade of Bama football ever.

How many times has Auburn been ranked number 1? Even if for a week?

So 5-5 against Arkansas is considered a winning record?

How many times has bama been "back" only to lose to some no name team (ULM) or lose to their instate rival?

touche.

No doubt Auburn has owned us. Which is why I still haven't said we'd beat yall or what not. Gotta earn it on the field. My point I was trying to make to aubie in mimi, was that while Tubbs has had great success against us, he hasn't done what some folks think he SHOULD have been able to do while we were down, and that's win a couple more Sec championships. Not to take away from yalls 04 season, which was awesome. It's just too easy to get him going though, kinda like a few of our guys rile quickly.

Since the bar retired, AU has had 4 seasons with a claim as the best team in the country ('83, 93, 04) (or top 2 - 88). Bama has had ONE. AU has more top 3 finishes (3-1), more top ten and more top twenty. We own you guys head to head.

Bottom line, AU has been more successful and relevant for what is likely your entire lifetime. So, thanks for playing, but you lose.

Thought we were talkin Tubby's time. But ok. BTW, 1 National Championship in that time is > than a claim to be the best when someone else was awarded it.

My lifetime.
Bama - National Championships in 78,79 and 92.
Auburn - 0
3 > 0
Bama SEC Championships -71,72,73,74,75,77,78,79,81(co),89(co),92,99 (that's 12 outright and/or co championships)
Auburn SEC Championships - 83,87,88(co),89(co),04 (that's 5 outright and/or cochampionships)
12>5

Ten win seasons in my lifetime.
Alabama - 71,72,73,74,75,77,78,79,80,86,89,91,92,94,96,99,02,05 Taking out 1993 with the forfeited season.
18 ten win seasons.
Auburn -72,74,83,86,88,89,93,97,04,06
10 ten win season.

18 > 10.

Eta: thanks for makin the discussion about in my lifetime. If just the past decade, I wouldn't have ammo.

And yet the only person to mention the streak in a positive light in this thread is you. Interesting indeed.

Wait, so are you trying to say Alabama claims not only more national championships than Auburn, but SEC championships as well? Wow, I have never heard that before...you would think someone would have mentioned that to me by now seeing as how I have lived in this state all of my life. Are Alabama fans shy about talking about their tradition or something?

Your welcome. I was guessing you were born early to mid 80's or something. You win this one.

We can legitimately stake a claim at the 1983 title, FWIW.

ETA: Unless you were born after 1983, then the best I can offer up is the 2004 undefeated season.
