Expects announcement days after the IB. Per PM

Kiffin or Freeze? I’ve been leaning Kiffin but more and more it sounds like Freeze IMO

Why would Cohen need to capitalize on momentum for Freeze? I’m all for Freeze but it seems like Lane or someone who hasn’t been mentioned.

On3 folks on call in show didn’t mentioned any names but all are hearing someone gets an offer by Tuesday and more likely Monday. Seem to hint that the offer would be to Kiffin but no one committed to that banter other then speculation.

Why would that sound more like Freeze?

I don't understand why we are leaking about an offer to an unknown coach

Here’s me reading the tea leaves:

From the start AU had “their man” or “someone in their sights”

That would imply it was someone they thought they could “surely” get.

Then you have Freeze lobbying for the job in a post game presser after the Arkansas win. His words sounded like he was already in negotiations and trying to squeeze more money.

Now you have different ppl saying we’re getting close and AU has their man (once again sounding like it’s someone they knew they could get)

That’s why I’m thinking Freeze. I still want Lane tho

If it was Freeze, they wouldn't merely be "close" to locking him down. Freeze would have taken the job the second AU called.

Matt Rhule is unemployed, so if he was their top target, it would probably have already been worked out.

Out of the names mentioned, Kiffin makes the most sense. He just got knocked out of the SECCG and the playoffs last night. Since he will have no championship post-season, I could see him picking up the phone today ready to talk.

Also, can we please take Stoops off the list? He got beat by Vandy at HOME last night. A Vandy team that lost 26 SEC games in a row.

I’ve thought it was gonna be Freeze from the beginning but I think Lane is the first choice

Wow, he went out on a limb there.

Good grief, please don’t quote this old piece of crap.

Those actions were of a man who thought he was getting a phone call, and hadn't gotten one yet.

I want it to be Freeze but from him lobbying makes it sound like he is trying to get noticed. If Auburn were already letting it known (to him or his agent) he wouldn't be so obvious. His agent would be pushing liberty behind the scenes.

His agent has already set him up for a big raise with the new contract he already got recently. That could mean he used someone interested to get the money. Could even be him trying to convince his next fan base he's worth it and not have Harsin type backslash, as far as his sec wins comments. I don't know who else he would be speaking too from liberty. No other conference would care.

But there is no telling who their shortlist is.

Strictly based on the information, this seems to eliminate Lanning who still has the Pac 12 championship game in play.

Besides, Cohen knows what's up - premium offensive mind + great defense + Jordan-Hare = No lose. Gonna be a great next 10 years, finally.

I don’t think Lanning is / was ever a serious candidate. He’s probably on the list of calls you make once Kiffin / Freeze etc don’t work out.

The train is moving fast and I've been telling you guys for a while now that this was going to be MUCH different from "normal Auburn". It's sounding like it's getting close to a done deal.

C'mon LOL.

There would be no "negotiations" with Freeze. He'd crawl through broken glass for this job.

How on earth did you come to this conclusion? Squeeze more money? Who else is going to hire Freeze?

Freeze is a backup and all this buzz obviously isn't about Freeze.
