I thought everyone knew about the Bama bump.

It extends further than recruit rankings.

They will ride on reputation for a couple of more years.

They should be like 15th. It’s where they belong.

Let's see, our 2 losses were at the buzzer on the road to top 7 teams and we also won a road game vs a top 15 team (and another vs a borderline Top 25 team).

- we didn't lose by 40 or at home (Oregon)
- we didn't get blown out by a team that lost to Marshall and Stanford (Clemson)
- we didn't lose at home to Arizona or get blown out on the road (UCLA)
- we didn't lose to a 6 loss Florida or get blown out by UCLA (Utah)
- we didn't lose by 20+ on the road to Michigan (Penn State)

Should I keep going or no?

First, we have beaten several teams when they were ranked. Part of that adds another loss to those teams and makes them less likely to remain ranked. Some teams have been known to come apart after Bama lays the wood to them. Also, if LSU and UT are as good as the claim is made they are then two last play road losses to top 10 teams says a lot as well. I can’t tell you how many times teams have lost to Bama close and it moved them up in the ranks so Bama should get the benefit of the doubt in return for similar situations.

They beat a good Ole Miss Team yesterday….don’t pick on the second best team in the West.

Just fyi, I’m not Stetson Bennett. I’m not playing in the game.

When you are comparing teams with warts it's kind of how you differentiate them.

Go ahead and list 14 teams that would beat Alabama at a neutral site. Lol

I look at it like the Josh Pate ranking.

Who would be favored to beat whom on a neutral field.

It’s hard to name 5 teams Bama wouldn’t be favored against. Even with our current coordinators.

Yes, but certain programs will get the benefit pf doubt due to reputation. That’s the point and the answer to to the OP.

The benefit of the doubt is Alabama has a better resume than those teams. But you are free to lay out your argument for UCLA, Penn State, Oregon, Clemson or Utah to take their place if you want. Or just admit that you hate Alabama and wrap this discussion up with a bow.

They have two losses to top 5 teams by small margins. They also have one pretty good win. There aren’t 10 other teams with superior bodies of work right now.

Honestly you seem kind of scared that Bama could still find their way back into the playoffs or something.

Why don’t you just enjoy the last minute win last year when we were down 4 NFL caliber starters in key positions that probably hurt us the most in the game not having active. Oh sorry technically Williams left the game early right after a 50 yard catch.
