On Bama week, Kiffin's remarks turn to praise

Kiffin is usually trying to be trolling, witty, taking digs, talking up Ole Miss, etc. But even Kiffin is smart enough to do nothing but lavish praise during this Bama week. He knows Saban is the most dangerous when he is mad. Respect for an old boss maybe, or maybe he is maturing some and learning to control his mouth. I think once Kiffin get a little more maturity under his belt, he will be a much more complete coach in about 5 more years. Whoever has him then will reap the rewards of a coach who has earned his stripes.

I’ll say it. Hope it’s us.

Me too. Would love Kiffin to take Sabans place when the time comes….

He's had a very mediocre career as a head coach, but wants the Bama job. He continues to say this kind of thing to court Bama fans or perhaps an endorsement from Saban himself. Seems to be working, because I see a lot of people wanting him to succeed Saban despite his career highlight being a C-USA championship.

Well , who out there is really in Sabans class ? I still say that most people don’t want to follow Saban . He has enough confidence that he could come in there and not be intimidated . Could he not work out ? Sure , but he would be as good an option as I think MIGHT be available

I like Kiffin, too. He's never had the talent to work with as a head coach that he would have here. With better talent, I think he wouldn't be quite as reckless with some of his decisions here. He's a good offensive mind.

Give me Lane or give me death

No popcorn statements this week?

Lane is overrated. He’s as good an offensive mind as there is but you don’t want an OC playing HC at a big school imo.
He’s still very immature and his teams reflect that. He gets caught in emotional swings and so do his players as a result.

Give me a horsechit coach that no one will outwork in recruiting

Pruitt has pretty much proven that he has no business being a head coach at a major program. He's a genius at running defenses. When it comes to everything else associated with running a football program, he's dumber than a box of rocks.

That's two championships. In three years, at what had been a pitiful program.
That, combined with his success at Ole MIss makes him anything but mediocre.

I for one think the first hire post-Saban should be afforded the luxury of being experimental, which Kiffin certainly is. Kiffin as HC with Pruitt as DC and maybe Cochran on ST/S&C would be a great staff to try first, IMO

And I think you wave $20 Million/ year [or whatever is equally outragous at the time] at Kirby Smart and say...
"you did it once, show you can repeat"
We built this fricker.

Why waste the time? Kirby's not leaving UGA unless he gets fired. Period. All offering him a huge sum of money says is that everyone else you offer after him is at best second choice.

I think he's just trying to Build saban up so that when he curb stomps us this Saturday he will look all the more genius.

I love this narrative from our fanbase this week. We lost by 1 in OT on the road to a top ten team and by 3 on the road to a top 5 team.
That sucks I know. But how does that mean an Ole Miss team who is not as good as LSU and Tennessee is going to curb stomp us?

And at a program that returned to being a pitiful program once he left.
He's done nothing but have Ole Miss on an upward trajectory since he took over.
Once Saban calls it a day the dynasty is effectively over. If we're not going to be as dominant, at least Kiffin would be a lot of fun and the teams would be fun to watch. We could do much, much worse.
