Kirby in his post game on the field interview said "We have a bunch of kids that love this university and we took zero in the portal"
Was this a message to recruits or was he taking a shot at some of the players that transferred out? I don't ever remember another coach saying his players loved the university they were playing for. Does he preach this love of university because he's an alum?
What's ya'lls thoughts

Why not both? They compliment one another well, with the latter kind of a nod to players transferring out into situations where the grass wasn't greener. With the transfer portal, you have to recruit your own players as well.

We have had our share of portal guys…before there was a portal. There will be times when we need it to fill injury voids or recruiting misses or just good opportunities.
I took that more as a shot to those that didn’t give af about the institution and left.

I think it’s at least a shot at Saban. With Bama’s perpetual top recruiting classes, their main running back (Gibbs), starting ILB (To’o to’o), Burton all came from the portal. Jabbing Saban that he didn’t think enough of the players he had and had to go out to the portal to get better players.

He was hosting recruits and sending a message to them.

I’m getting NIL emails weekly from the Athletic department. They’re really gonna start pushing that shite hard.

What?
I get emails from the University’s athletic department. Generally “this week in athens” or other news etc. Last email was help us support or NIL fund to build for championships for the future… something to that effect.
