Here's a 25 minute CBS Sports highlight of last year's UT game. I watched it yesterday and feel a lot calmer about this weekend.

-The biggest thing to me is that none of what they're doing is new. The super wide field splits, the stacked or bunch WR formations...all done last year. If nothing else, we at least have a damn solid blueprint as a starting point before even beginning to look at 2022 film.
-Hooker, Tillman, and Hyatt all played last year. We've seen these guys. Tillman had a huge game on the stat sheet but ultimatley UT had 10 points with a few minutes left in the game
-Teh biggest thing to me, same as this year, is our offense. We dominiated them last yera which in turn kept their O off the field. We ran all over them and STetson had several huge runs himself.
-On a down note, a ton of guys that were making plays all thorugh that video for us aren't playing this yera. Notably James Cook (3 TDs), AD mitchell, Zamir, kendrick, most of the defense, etc. So we'll have to overcome that
-It doesn't look liek we really utilized the TEs much. I would imagine they'll play a much bigger factor this time
-UT has only played 2 games this year away from home, only 1 of which was an actually tough atmosphere. They neutralized that atmosphere quickly (mainly due to LSu dumb mitakes) to where it wans't a factor, which I highly doubt is the case this weekend. I truly dont' think any of their players are quite ready for this type of atmosphere since it will have been a year since they've played in something like it

People are rightly making a big fuss about UT's offense against our D but as mentioned I think the game will ultimatley come down to our O against their D. If we continue to play the same style of ball and wear them down like we've done most of the year I feel good.

We controlled their running game with 4 and 5 guys last year. That was the big reason why their offense did nothing outside of their scripted drive.

IMO, keys for the offense are don't lose the turnover battle and score touchdowns in the red zone.

I feel really good about this years defense setting the edge and containing hooker. We’ve been really good this year with TFLs and no gainers when they try to stretch our defense out to the sideline.

Yeah I mean if we had our roster from last year I don't think anyone would be worried lol

Replacing their production plus dealing with a much improved Hooker is why this game is a toss up. Hooker missed some throws in that game that he hasn't missed at all this year.

He misses throws. They are low completion percentage throws.

He is just doing a much better job than last year.

Despite all the talk, stats and analysis the fact is that there is no way to tell what might happen in Sat. We have a great defense but is it great enough? They have a great win over AL but they barely scraped by after Bama gave up 130 yds of penalties and a no show by their defense. We’re missing Nolan and Jackson on D. They have Willie Martinez coaching their secondary.

The only thing this game WILL NOT be is a defensive slog. Other than that, I wouldn’t be shocked by any outcome.

Let's just hope Stetson has one of his better games. He seems to be off the last four games. He has to be better than he has been to beat this team. No stupid turnovers

LSU and Alabama took themselves out of the games early with dumb turnovers, penalties and special teams screwups.

The fear with an offense like Tennessee’s is not to let them get out ahead of you. We don’t have that difference-maker like Bryce Young to rally us back. We need to be sharp early and force them to go straight up round-for-round with us.

Somebody said it earlier in the thread, but we can’t have any bullshite turnovers from Stetson or Ladd in the first half. We need to play clean and make them earn everything they get.

If we do that and control the lines of scrimmage, I don’t know that they can win that kind of game with a team like us.
