So do we curtail the penalty thing Saturday or not?

We are currently #131 out of 131 in BOTH Penalties per Game (14.0) and Penalty Yards Per Game (110.3) in Road Games.

@ Texas - 15 penalties for 100 yards

@ Arkansas - 10 penalties for 101 yards

@ Tennessee - 17 penalties for 130 yards

Go back and add 2021 in and it doesn't look much better

@ Florida - 11 penalties for 75 yards

@ Texas A&M - 8 penalties for 82 yards

@ Mississippi State - 6 penalties for 60 yards

@ Auburn - 11 penalties for 129 yards

@ Texas - 15 penalties for 100 yards

@ Arkansas - 10 penalties for 101 yards

@ Tennessee - 17 penalties for 130 yards

Road Games 2021 & 2022 Average : 11 penalties for 97 yards

Can we lower that to...........6 penalties for 65 yards?

Doubtful. This team is starting to remind me of last year's basketball team. They'll certainly tell you about all the shite they need to fix, but they'll never actually do it.

half of that is PI. That's gonna be tough. We can eliminate false start/holds... but then again who's calling the game?

This is a head scratcher for a Saban team. Even more strange is the fact that as meticulous as Saban is he has not been able to correct it.

As long as we’re doing 75 checks at the line, the false starts will pile up. I could also argue it leads to holds being called on us because D-Lines are getting a jump

For the love of God can we go into 2 minute drill every once and a while? Bryce was made in a lab for it

PI is just going to get called on us; especially on the road. Alabama has a reputation now for committing PI and the refs have an easier time pulling the flag out that they wouldn't call the same on another team like Georgia.

I expect us to have at least 25 penalties. It's just what we are now.

Mother if God

That’s pitiful

I have to assume they’ll be more sound moving forward, though

If we were rattled in Austin and Knoxville, then we are probably going to be rattled in Baton Rouge at night as well.

Can you really say we run a HUNH offense when 90% of the time they take the play clock well below the 5 second point???

1st thing we do is stop trying to return kickoffs and presto we don't get the block in back from #11. We get to start at the 25 so that is a big deal.

Doubtful, at this point, it is just who we are. Waiting until the play clock hits 1 or 2 to snap the ball and things like that aren't helping our cause either.

A couple of scores really takes their crowd out of it. They're amped up to start the game but seem easily discouraged if the opposing team gets a decent lead. Hopefully 'Bama starts hot coming off the bye week.

Doubt it. I don’t think we’ll look any different than we have all year, whether it be in discipline, scheme, etc. Going forward we just have to hope that we make a few plays, that we get a few turnovers, and that Bryce plays spectacularly.

Yes, I’m negative. I just haven’t seen anything out of this team to make me feel positive.

We really don’t look any different than last year. Just exchange Jameson & Metchie for Gibbs.

Since Saban got here, each team seemed to have a different personality/identity than the others. These last two teams just sort of blend together but not in a good way. Not sure if it’s because of Covid and such.

IF, IF we could get some really good play from Harrell that might be enough to get the offense out of this funk.

We're just so average at receiver this season.

This is the easiest fix Alabama coaching staff can implement. I would not be surprised if this snafu hasn't cost Bama 20+ points on the year: either poor field position that limited offense and created a punt and great field position for opponents to starting at the 10 then going down field to miss a 53 yd FG vs mostv likely making a 38 yd FG

This Bama offense has sucked on the road for the last two seasons. Penalties, over-communication at the line, play getting in too late. Coincides with the arrival of BOB. Coincidence? Hopefully Saban is doing a little micro-managing and sorting some of the BS out this week.
