I don’t really think I have any issue with this? If you refuse to play then enter the portal.

Same. Volunteering to redshirt is quitting.

Harsin May get fired, but this is one case where I agree with his decision

I guess it makes sense. The team is short on depth in some key positions as it is.

IDK seems like he's actively sabotaging a few things here. The roster for the future coach and also the kids opportunities and careers.

I mean it’s his roster and his team right now and he has players refusing to play who are on scholarship to play football. Not sabotaging anything.

I think he is. His own kids that he recruited don’t want to waste eligibility on his sorry arse any more so he’s having a pissing contest.

Y’all can agree with Harsin all y’all want. It doesn’t look good on him at all.

I don’t see an issue with a kid - who is not playing - wanting to preserve their eligibility. Not sure why Harsin would have a problem with that. It’s not like Tank is asking for a redshirt to save his own time and severely risking team success as a result. King wasn’t playing anyway so why would a redshirt request be denied? I don’t see why y’all wouldn’t support that.

Also this little tidbit is just great.

I feel like he's basically telling kids instead of saving their eligibility for AU next season to leave and go somewhere else.

IMO we need all the bodies we can get. Especially since this season is effectively over. I guess I have my eye towards the future and whatever next coaching regime comes in.

Kids wanting to redshirt has always been a thing as well.

We had a running back that instucted Gus not to burn his redshirt and his staff did so anyway. Gus’s staff botched that by accidentally burning his redshirt.

These DyeHard takes “suit up or leave” are two decades ago material.

Oh it’s not a good look on him at all. His players literally don’t want to waste eligibility on him. And the bad thing is I understand their side of it. But you can’t have players on scholarship refusing to play for you so it’s really the only option Harsin has.

That's the real issue here. Refusing to not let a player volunteer to redshirt is a non-issue to me.

So signees leaving is the issue but telling signees to “suit up or leave” isn’t an issue.

Have you considered that is part of the issue?

Harsin is the issue. I think we can all agree with that.

True, and also Harsin will not be around next year so having him make decisions that will be felt beyond the end of this season probably isn't the best road for our program to go down.

If I’m your head coach and you’re telling me “hey I wanna hang around the team and stuff but I don’t wanna play for you any more”, then I simply have to say “ok then you CANT play for me any more.”
