Do you expect to see a change in personnel in our nickel and dime packages?

If so, what players would you like to see inserted into those roles? Personally I'd like to see Terrion slide over to the nickle and and have Eli outside. I'd also like to see Khyree Jackson at safety. He's along rangy athlete and it's criminal we cant find a way to get him on the field.

That doesn't make sense to slide Jackson at safety. CB and safety are two different positions

If you really want to know how fricked up our defense is listen to George Teague break it down on his show. Itll make you want to puke

Does it matter? When was the last time we had good defensive success against a team that spreads things out and throws the ball down the field accurately if we didn't get tons of immediate pressure?
The scheme can't match it. Just doesn't work. And we are too stubborn to admit it and adjust to something less complicated that isn't "perfectly matched up" theoretically. We refuse to do things that have trade off negatives because the system we run is built is theoretically erase all negatives, which in turn makes it extremely complex.
Is what it is, have to win those games 45-42.

I never said he should be our starting I said because of his length I’d like to see him get a shot at safety. That same move helped Eddie Jackson out a lot. Now he’s an nfl veteran safety. Just think it could be beneficial to try.

What do you think schematically we could change to adapt to modern spread offenses?

I listened to that. He broke it down well.
Our safeties are flat footed, more so Hellams than anyone. My opinion with that kind of team, take Hellams out, put in a true corner/safety and maybe sacrifice some of the run support. Kool Aid is fine, Arnold I think is ok by himself most of the time. Battle does his job. Branch got abused, Moore got abused.

I agree Boz. Good thing is Branch’s issues can be corrected but Malachi gives up plays because he refuses to hustle in game.

Very interesting stuff. We’ve gotta ply better in the secondary.

short answer....not really

I think our best Nickel lineup would be:
CB: Arnold
CB: Ricks
Star: Kool-Aid
SS: Branch
FS: Battle
It'd be really tough for an opponent to scheme a mismatch with that group on the field.

I like that lineup. Branch would be a good safety. How do you feel about Khyree Jackson?

I expect absolutely zero changes in anything

Do you feel there should be any changes in our secondary personnel wise?

No. None. Our scheme will be different from last week because of the offense we play this week.
The outside exception would be Ricks getting a little playing time, maybe.
But we aren’t retooling our scheme and personnel 7 games in to the season. We are what we are. Kristian Story isn’t coming on the field and changing the whole dynamic.
Personnel and scheme were decided before the season and if there were mistakes made, they were made then.
Zero changes. None. We are what we are

Woody4daTide9,
You are partial right:
We are what we are 7 games in. Our scheme is based on who we play each week.
However, Saban isn't afraid to tweak personnel. He has done that before... If let's say Player A struggles 7 games in... He will make change at a position if he thought Player B is likely to be more successfull than Player A.

I agree with you. Last week several players were playing awful on defense and he refused to make any changes during the game.
