I figure a good portion of the people "upset" about it, are people like the OP who just hate Alabama in general and will take anything they can find to be outraged.

And then the other portion are the people who are brainwashed to believe having the most extreme response on the topic while ignoring all logic will somehow in the future increase their chances of getting laid.

I suppose maybe 1 or 2 are literally incapable of understanding the different levels of force.

In the meantime, I will gladly pay 100% of the girls medical expenses, including counseling for the injuries, pain and suffering she has had to endure.

Felony assault.

Come on dude. It was an assault but it is NOT FELONY ASSAULT.

Aggravated assault in Tennessee is a felony. A person commits aggravated assault if he: intentionally, knowingly or recklessly causes SERIOUS PHYSICAL INJURY to another person. intentionally or knowingly attempts to cause physical injury by strangulation.

What fricking serious injury did you see? Whatever he gets charged with will not be a felony.

It's not assault, it would be battery if deemed a crime. People often get assault and battery backwards.

"I'm going to beat your arse!" is assault. When they physically beat your arse, that is battery.

Generally they come together because the threats come before the physical.

Also, the OP is just a troll who hates Alabama. He's never posted anything reasonable when it comes to Alabama.

Are people in this thread seriously defending Burton here?

Like I really don't understand how you defend this. Oh she was on the field, she was asking for it. Oh yea, so was about 50 thousand other people. How about any dudes that was close to you, if you felt that threatened. Burton needs his arse kicked. Period.

There we go. Back to what I said last night. For some hammerheads, the "gridiron" is sacred. Like the coliseum. Only gladiators can step onto that special dirt.

The same way the same folks defend the kid that wrecks his car into another family, then sits on the curb while the other folks burn to death.

Go Script A !!!

Are you saying that football players have the right to assault anyone on the field at any point, before, after, or during the game?

Hell yeah!
I know you want to believe that, but that's simply not the case. The closest thing you could cite would be a citizen's arrest, but that is only good when "reasonable force" is used in the process of the arrest. Burton didn't look like he was trying to arrest anyone, but only use force at his own discretion.

Since assault/battery can be charged even during a citizen's arrest (when the force used was unjustified), assault/battery can certainly be charged when someone is using force without the intent to perform a citizen's arrest.

Someone breaking the law doesn't give someone else the right to do whatever they want to the law-breaker.

Nope. They are sarcastically defending him because people are completely overreacting

A Tennessee defensive back is now back with the team 7 days after beating the shite out a dude and pushing him down the stairs. Barely a thread about it

A Bama player pushes a girl in the face and people want the dude off the team and charged with a felony. He should absolutely be suspended but people need to stop freaking the frick out

Also the former bama player ALS patient fiasco was easily the most cringe thing.

The stadium is a public place w/paid attendance.... she paid, the game was over. If they didn't want fans on the field then that's security's problem.

Is he still on the team? Or is Saban too busy crying to the SEC offices about the refs to deal with this?

If you go where you don't belong, shite happens.

Fans in the stands. Players on the field. If a player goes into the stands and hits someone. The player needs to go to jail.

The SEC fines schools for having fans on the field for a reason. It's a safety issue.

If the fan doesn't go on the field, nothing happens to them.

Is your assaulting safety still on the team?

Or is Heupel still at the buffet, whacking off to 17 paid-for penalties?

Word was he never was suspended to begin with. Clown.
