Do you think Saban would bring in new OC and DC in the same year?

Hypothetically, if Saban told Golding and Boob to take a hike after this year... That would be a mountain of a job to handle in the off season. Finding both coordinators, their staff, the recruiting, etc.. Do you think he'd even want to tackle that? I'm trying to remember if we've had to do that in years past...

I think BOB was leaving after this season regardless of what happens. I think BOB will get another college head coaching job if he wants one.
Golding just isn't good enough of a coach for the SEC level.
And, if I'm being honest I'd let the WR and DL coaches go too.

If he had the candidates he wanted lined up or even brought on as analysts beforehand to settle in a few months before they were needed would be the only way I could see it happening. I think BoB being gone is a sure-thing. We can only hope Golding is as well.

If Golding is back then I know for sure Saban is declining.

The early signing period helps us as far as replacing OC/DC both from a recruiting standpoint. The hay will already be in the barn. Where it potentially hurts us is with transfers. The transfers would happen after the coaching changes are under way and the relationships have to be rebuilt.
I guess the best hope would be a name that is stronger than the loss of relationships.

He has done that before, but is unlikely to do that agaib.
BOB is almost likely gone after this season. Saban is gonna want to hire someone who can develop QB more than playcaller. Its possible he'll hire a qb coach and a OC, shuffling around.
Golding isn't likely to leave. We have real good defense before Saturday game where everyone on defensive side had a brain fart. One bad game.... c'mon.
If Golding does leave, I can see Charles Kelly stepping in.
There isn't that many names out there that wants to come and work for Saban.
It's not matter of who we want... its matter of who is willing to come to work for Saban. That's the issue.
We can try and coup Glen from Georgia but it's unlikely. Marcusfreeman? Maybe depending on how season goes.
Then what?
Two choices for saban: promote within or tap into NFL again.

I am willing to take that chance

What? Why wouldn't a DC want to come coach for potentially the greatest college coach ever to do it before he's retired for good? Not many opportunities to work and learn from a living legend.

I think BOB will be gone after this season. I think he'll get a HC or NFL coordinator job.
It's Golding I'm really worried about. He couldn't get a HS job. No one wants him.

I don't know if I would rather have Kelly over Golding actually. I saw some of his product when he was at FSU and want impressed ... Actually wondered how he was a D1 coach after giving up a horrid game winning TD to UM

I don't see how Saban CAN'T get rid of both of them. The closing of Saban's career is riding on how he handles this off-season. If he wants to attempt to go out strong, he has to do something drastic, even if it means firing some people. I don't see people beating down his door to hire them away.

Every year Bama will have 1-3 tough games against an offense with a pulse. And, Pete Golding gets his arse handed to him every game he faces a competent offense helmed by a competent offensive coach. We are losing ground on the coaching front the longer Golding stays in Tuscaloosa. Golding is rotting our entire program.

Don't forget T Rob was also DC at South Carolina. T Rob is a hell of a recruiter and DB coach. I have to think he would get the first look if the DC position opens up at Bama.

From what I can remember Saban has done this three times. 2008,2018, and 2019. Though no one was "technically" fired in the process

Ask Boz, ask anyone. Saban isn't easy person to work for. He demands lot of your time and he will stay on your arse every week.
Think about it for a minute...

I think this thread is overreaction. Y'all bitching over something that cost us a game. GOlding can call 5 straight games of perfection and ya'll will bitch about him.
Trust me... it's not that easy to come work for Saban... I know Saban called lot of people last year... lot declined. ask Boz. ask someone.

I’ll take just 1.
BTW, coaching for Saban is hard but it’s a golden ticket if you do just marginally well.

Twice. 2008 and 2018.
In 2008 OC Jim McElwain replaced Major AppleWhite. DC Kirby Smart replaced Kevin Steele.
In 2018 OC Mike Locksley replaced Brian Dabol. DC Pete Golding replaced Jeremy Pruitt.

Golding did not adjust after 11 burnt Hellams the first time. He didn’t adjust after 11 burnt Hellams a second time. Golding is a garbage DC, I don’t care how you slice it.
