A bunch of buyouts and no state income tax. They're actively trying to recruit more out of state students with out of state tuition like Alabama has done and that will help eventually.

I moved to TN (from fricking Arkansas) in March. This state government is unimaginably poor.

2 assistants are all that’s left of the 1st and we actually run a decent budget surplus without an income tax. And with the lottery and sports book supporting education that surplus just grows.

Why is Tennessee so poor? For the same reason most states in the south are poor. A little research and due diligence makes it obvious. Southern States are gluttons for punishment.
