Milroe or not, it’s no coincidence that BoB arrives and we start struggling like this

Uninspired and unimaginative playcalling. Especially in the most crucial of situations.

Hiring and retaining BoB goes against every advancement we made when we hired Lane in 2014. BoB is antithesis of innovation.

I hate being negative but it’s hard to get your hopes up for this team when you know that loser is the guy commanding the offense.

Unimaginative is the best way to describe him. It's just an NFL offense from 15 years ago. Everything is straight up, motion and formations are rarely used to cause confusion, few if any RPOs, no rolling pockets, no sprint outs, no jet sweeps. Nothing at all to pressure the perimeter or create easy plays. Just expecting the players to out-execute the opponent with no regard for relative skill levels.

Game on the line and we literally called Darby up the middle.

As terrible as Milroe was, a competent offensive coordinator would have played to his running ability. It says everything about BoB that he's only ever had success with Tom Brady. Even then, I note that the Patriots stopped winning Super Bowls when BoB joined the staff and started winning them again when BoB left. Really makes you think.

frick yeah! Give me 350 yards per game and a quarterback who completes 50% of his passes with 16 TDs and 13 Ints.

I'd take that any day over 525 yds and 44.3 pts per game!

This is going to come off maybe the wrong way but at what point do we stop looking at bob and start looking towards Saban? BoB offensive strategy/play calling has not changed in 21 games. What’s the saying, if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck and looks like a duck, it’s an effin duck. That’s bob, he is who he is, he ain’t changing. Before every dang game people get there hopes up for a more innovative, creative offense and by the second qtr the realization hits that nothing is changing. And it never will as long as bob has control. Why hasn’t the Goat stepped in and force changes? Does he really believe bob commanding the offense is the best option?

Not trying to sound like I’m disrespecting Saban, thankful every day he’s the coach. Asking that honestly, I truly would like some insight into what he might be thinking. My bad for long post.

Don't apologize because you're asking the right question.

It also baffles me how the media never asks Saban about the offensive playcalling..

I mean we have a running QB, in his first start and never even tried to run a rollout to move the pocket so he's comfortable.

He would drop the kid back running these deep routes A&M would sit on and when the kid sees nobody open he either runs, gets sacked or fumbles.

That kills confidence and makes the kid even worse and worse.

We were in a dire 3rd and 2 situation on our last drive with an NFL RB and this LB sized athlete at QB and we hand the ball to the backup up the middle when A&M were stuffing our middle all night.

It's moronic.

Someone needs to press Saban about this and save us (and him) from himself here.

We did try the one bootleg into the pressure from a blitz that resulted in a sack. After that though, they made absolutely no attemots to get him moving. The OL actually played really well last night, but you just can't ask a raw redshirt freshman to make a bunch of full field reads on vertical stuff. The playcalls should have given him a bunch of easy one read stuff to start out and get him settled down. BooB treated him like he was Bryce but faster though, and it unsurprisingly was a total disaster.

If he can’t see the problems on offense himself then we are F’d.

This was the main problem. He was given too much to digest.
It made Milroe, hesitant, unsure and slow. Gone was the big bold brash QB we saw in the Arkansas game. Instead we got a dithering, confused young player.

Exactly.
The tape from last years game vs Florida should’ve been watched the whole week and copied a bunch of the stuff they did with Emory. Mullen lit us up.

BOB is still horrible with Bryce, just that Bryce is so damn good he can cover most of it.

The issues of when we get in critical downs calling moronic plays are still there. BOB almost cost us with Bryce against Texas on that dumb 4th down. He almost Coat us last week against Arkansas with that dumb 1st in goal throw.

The guy is an absolute liability and every week we gain hope for better through the week only to fall off a cliff of disappointment by the first quarter hoping our QB and skill players can perform magic to make up for the dunce who can't.

Just think about who we’ve had at OC over the years and the dropoff to who we have now. There’s simply no innovation.

Asking BoB to be innovative is akin to asking a WW1 calvary commander to coordinate a drone strike using satellites and GPS. He simply has no concept of doing that.

I fear our OC and QB situation is fixing to enter another 2014 situation.

I don’t know who any of our 10000 analysts are but one of the offensive ones needs to grow a pair, walk into Sabans office and show how much better it will be over bobs. Stevie Wonder can call better plays than bob I’m sick of this shiite.

We've been bad on offense more often than good under BOB against capable comp. This is just who we're gonna be under him. Saban won't make the change until bare minimum off-season though so we will just have to suffer

Agreed. He did Milroe no favors. After the fumbles his internal clock went to shite and on pass plays it looked like his first instinct was to run. With that whole week to prepare with the backup and really no plays were put into play to suit his talents.

Saban is severely lacking in a full understanding in hiring a quality OC. For every good one he has hired, he has hired a bad one.
