Most Auburn fans live in Atlanta, Birmingham, or Montgomery, all of which are large cities within two hours of Auburn.

Some Ole Miss fans live in Memphis, which is an hour from Oxford. Many live in Jackson, which is about three hours from Oxford. Many are scattered around Mississippi. Oxford is isolated. There isn't an interstate within 30 miles of town.

The situations are not remotely comparable.

I don’t think the stadium itself is too big, we just try to cram too many people in too little a space. So I agree that we try to have too many people at the games. Space out our seating numbers, make the sitting experience more enjoyable for the average fan, and you’ll remove probably 4-5k seats. This’ll remove crowding seats and make the prices we charge feel more palatable while you’re in stadium.

I think it’s specifically related to season ticket sales, but still.

I've never thought tickets were outrageous but for a few games. Usually, you can get a decent seat (most of them are good in our stadium) for less than $100/seat.

We can't ignore the fact attendance is going down across the board and it isn't stopping. The common fan, the common man, is priced out of many good games. It's much cheaper to watch it on the latest state of the art TV, which keep getting better and cheaper, TBH.

Kentucky nailed that on their renovation.

I don't think you understand Mississippi and how small it is too, but that's okay. There aren't hundreds of thousands of Rebel fans in Jackson.

Two of the top ten largest cities in the country are within three hours of College Station. And y'all still managed to lose to Appalachian State at home? SMDH

Very true. I may be projecting because we bought the seat backs this year and I feel scrunched in. May also be a sign to hit the gym.

Game is sold out for Kentucky and will be at all SEC home games. 4 cupcake games in a row gets old.

I'd hope Ole Miss fans can show up for a top 10 team coming to Oxford in their SEC opener.

The game sold out earlier this week. Oxford isn't an easy travel distance if you are further than JXN, Tupelo, Memphis. Games against minor opponents in 90 degree weather result in light attendance. SEC games will all be well attended.

I disagree. Ole Miss is on the up and up and they can't find 60K to fill the stadium. Most of the Auburn fans don't live near Auburn, but they still make the 2-3 hour drive to support their crappy team with no QB or caoch.

An anecdote doesn't disprove my point. Attendance is down across college football, especially for shitty OOC games. Auburn is surrounded by major cities. Oxford is not.

The UK game is sold out. Tulsa was not well attended. Wonder what the difference is.

Auburn fans probably realized SJSU would be one of their few opportunities to see an Auburn win this year.

A bonus clause based on how many season tickets are sold has nothing to do with attendance. Kiff won't get any extra cash regardless of whether every seat is full or no one shows up.

Encouraging attendance might lead to better future ticket sales. Just one of many reasons for him to want and expect better attendance.

I wish we had more butts in the seats, for sure. I don't think it's a great look to be criticizing the fans for not attending the second half of the Tulsa game, though.

Either way, I hope it's jam packed on Saturday morn.

He’s acting like Saban without Saban’s resume. I appreciate his effort, but it comes off as hollow, even if he has had some success in his first 2 years.
