Mark Richt's coaching tree

Looking back, the only assistant's I can think of were Bobo at Colorado State and VanGorder at Georgia Southern. VanGorder was only there for 1 year before he left for another assistant job like a 19 year old girl with daddy issues looking for novel attention.
Kirby already has Tucker, Lanning, Beamer, and Pittman.
Any thoughts on why he had so few assistant's get head coaching jobs? I always heard he thought of him self as a CEO and let the coaches make most of the decisions. I would think that would put them in position to become head coaches.
Edit: Add Jeremy Pruitt at UTk and Neal Calloway at UAB to Richt's coaching tree.

I think at Miami.

I think Richt was the OC until 2006. After VG he promoted his friend Martinez to DC. After that he hired Grantham who is basically a career defensive coach. Pruitt is the other tree member. He is basically a career defensive coach that landed one HC job. I think one of Richt's weaknesss could be seen as his coordinator hires.

Jeremy Pruitt is the only other name I can think of.

Short, disasterous coaching tree which is perplexing.

Dooley didn't have much of a coaching as well and that's in 25 years.
The only assistants that became P5 coaches were his brother,Goff and Bill Lewis. Not sure about players

Kirby is a branch off of Richts tree

He didnt even think Goff was ready to be a head coach back then. We were utterly inept systemically back then.

Sort of, to me the tree belongs to who a coach progressed thru the ranks with and that is Saban.

Then I think the only one that would apply to smart is Lanning. Beamer only had one year here. Tucker was with Saban more years than Smart I think. Same with Pittman, he had been everywhere

Diaz was DC here under Richt, I believe. Richt fired him, iirc.

All but beamer spent several seasons with smart and ascended under his mentorship. All the saban ones will be claimed by bama anyway as they claim everything right or wrong....

No, he left for Temple, Richt left Miami, and Miami brought diaz immediatly back.

You left off Neal Callaway

You're right. I was thinking of Martinez. My bad.

Not a P5 HC, but Erk Russell was a hell of a coach.

Was he a GA here in 2005, or was he a paid RB coach on CMR’s staff?

GA under Donnan in 1999 or 2000 I think.
RB coach for Richt in 2005.
It would be a little laughable to credit richt and his tree (considering the amount of time under Saban dating back to lsu days)

Coaches obviously didn't move around as often back then but his tree isn't very impressive and you'd think some of his players over 25 year period woulda made
it through the ranks.
If you wanna look at an impressive tree
