BowlJackson's Top 5 candidates for Auburn football HC in 2023

1. Deion Sanders, Jackson State
- would be a publicity and recruiting home run. Auburn would instantly be back in the top 10 in recruiting. He is a name and a personality that can control the boosters and the money, and not the other way around
2. Dave Aranda, Baylor
- probably the best from an actual coaching standpoint and highest potential for building long term success
3. Lane Kiffin, Ole Miss
- would be a good solid hire that would immediately restore Auburn to recruiting relevancy, but the ceiling isn't as high as the top 2 and he's probably less likely to leave his current school as well.
4. Mark Stoops, Kentucky
- his resume at Kentucky on the field and on the recruiting trail speaks for itself. He learned at the feet of some GOATs Hayden Fry, Bill Snyder, and Big Bro Bob
5. Jeff Grimes, OC Baylor
- if there's one thing that having Jeff Grimes will guarantee, it's a top tier OL and a good running game. At the very least he's our Sam Pittman and takes us back to fundamental, well coached old school football
BowlJackson's Top 5 candidates that I DO NOT frickING WANT
but they'll get mentioned anyway
1. Hugh Freeze., POS
2. Urban Meyer, washed up POS
3. Will Muschamp, sucks
4. Dan Mullen, sucks
5. Kevin Steele, any legitimacy this hire would've had 2 years ago is gone now

Well now I know at least one of you has your head on straight.

Sanders with Auburn's recruiting resources is a scary thought to me.

Hang on….. you would be completely in favor of Deion Sanders over Urban Meyer??
I thought MSU fans got completely off the rails during coaching searches.

Those 2 Auburn grads you always talk about knowing Eifel towered your gf, didn't they?

Mark Stoops maybe. The others are out of your league imo

Can't see Aranda, Kiffin, or Stoops leaving their current jobs for Auburn.

Urban hasn't coached college in 5 years, he's become a meme since then and he's proven to be toxic

Agree with Bowl on most of the list WITH THE EXCEPTION of Deion. Jimbo is a prime example that great recruiting alone doesn't lead to success on the field. There is nothing in Deion's history that says he can be a good P5 coach. Zero.

How are Deion at Jackson State, or the OC of Baylor out of Auburn's league?

So the guy that recently said “I needed Ole Miss more than they needed me”. The guy who’s daughter just moved from SoCal and has been admitted to Ole Miss. This guy is gonna want to move to Auburn and deal with the incestual dysfunction that is Auburn athletics

One thing on Deion is, he will look like a giant hypocrite to every family he ever recruits at if he leaves Jackson State. His whole spiel is based on raising up HBCU football, not using it to raise up himself.

Sounds like this generation's "I'm leaving Ole Miss in a pine box" to me

Did you miss the last part of his section on Lane, or just in your feelings?
