While I thought we’d struggle against app state, I figured we’d bumble our way to an ugly win. Bad coaching, OL play, and certainly QB play is a pretty bad combo. No excuse for any of it in year 5. The Ags are bad…
I’d be remiss if I didn’t congratulate app state for winning the LOS on both sides. There’s no sugar-coating the team or Jimbo.

My favorite thing I learned from A&M yesterday was calling Haynes King Dark Helmet.

Our offense looks like it’s day 1 of camp.
It’s year 5, there is zero excuse for depth issues at LB and OL.

If somebody would have just returned a Howdy, they probably would have pulled it out.

You are obviously an alter .There's no way we have a good honest A&M poster on this board .

This is the part that would really concern me. It's one thing to have a loss like that when you're trying to change the culture and put your imprint on the program. It's completely different when you've built your program with 4 full recruiting classes.

Just realized, I didn’t see the much anticipated and practiced jump pass that Craig was teaching. Did I just miss it? It might have helped.

The last few years with the exception of Kellen Mond’s final season, all the QBs look the same. Different numbers, different skill sets, highly rated recruits, look like shite with an occasional good performance and in Calzada’s case, a singular game against Bama. The most disheartening thing is all make the same mistakes. They hold the ball while performing progressions, throw to spots instead of players, miss low even in the red zone and often fail to use their legs even when that is the right read. I saw King run to the field and no one was between him and the first down and he threw the ball to a bracketed receiver (Smith) The ball was played and an incompletion resulted. Here’s the problem. Saw Mond, King, Calzada, King do it over and over. The QB is far from being the only problem. Every year with the exception of one we have a very young inexperienced line who cannot perform basic combinations and have difficulty with stunts and twists. We always struggle in the same areas on the offensive line. Our receivers are often covered even when they are much faster than the defenders. Why? Those DBs have good coaches who watch tape and know our routes and situational combinations. However we had a new problem to a degree I cannot remember. We have been sound on defense and could run the ball which keeps you in games. We cannot run the ball this year. It may change but right now our running game is very poor. I’m addition, our defense is very talented but had great difficulty getting fits and when properly fitted they could not tackle. Running offense and defense are an attitude to some degree. There are teams we play this year who demonstrate the running game attitude we lack. Arkansas comes to mind. These problems in addition to a lack of evolution in offense has me highly skeptical this season. I have been accused of being a “sunshine pumper” because until now I had faith that we would get better. Today I still think that but everyone is getting better too. There needs to be a fundamental evaluation of this offense but Coach Fisher is not known for critical self examination. We need to hire a sophisticated offensive minded coach to perform self scouting to identify our weaknesses in scheme and suggest modifications to help with offensive efficiency. We have demonstrated we are not afraid to spend the money but doing this may suggest lack of confidence in Coach Fisher. As AD, Ross Bjork needs to insist on this.
