“It’s one game, you know?” Sarkisian said Monday. “It’s a chance for us to do what we love to do. I think one of the biggest mistakes people make is [thinking] this is going to be the game that’s going to define our program. “It might, it might not. I’m not that concerned about it. I’m more concerned about just the way we play the game.” Sarkisian said that his goal is to play for a Big 12 championship. While the Crimson Tide will be a future SEC opponent, Saturday’s matchup is a nonconference game for now, and Sarkisian said he’s focused on what he can control.

He knows they are about to be destroyed

he's not wrong. playing Bama doesn't affect their Big XII standing at the end of the season. Sark is fully aware that Texas needs to win a conference title before thinking about any other type of post season.

but yeah, those dudes are about to get their shite pushed in so hard

quote:

Sarkisian said he wasn't sure where he was during that 2010 championship game, but he echoed a frequent refrain from Longhorn fans -- one that will be analyzed quite a bit this week: what might have been if former Texas quarterback Colt McCoy had not been hurt on the fifth snap of a 37-21 loss.

"I think we all wish, if Colt was in the game, what would have happened?" he said.

LOL at the short whorns for still being unable to get past this!

I don’t see anything wrong with what he said and, honestly, that’s exactly what he should have said

I'm glad they know Bama is not a pushover.

#Texas tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders: “We know Bama is not a pushover at all. They could blow us out easily if we don't execute the game plan.”

One thing that would have happened is Bama wouldn't have gone completely vanilla on offense, and we wouldn't have been playing against a QB we knew nothing about. They seem to forget that dude made some plays and we didn't game plan for him.

He's not wrong but usually you wait until after the game to say that. Preemptively putting this out there comes across as you think you're about to get your arse kicked.

Nah, he's partially right but there's a few things he got wrong.

It may not limit some success, but if he gets blown out vs Alabama, they're not sniffing the playoffs regardless of what they do in the B12. So yes it may define his season.

I think he's rightly setting attainable goals. Win your league. They are in baby step mode right now and he wants to do everything he can to lower expectations.

Good place to add that Marcell Dareus was one of the most underrated players at Alabama, of all time.

He told Colt to GTFO.

Hope the dude realizes we and others do this once a year every year. He'll be eaten alive playing with this type of attitude.

He’s absolutely right.

But you don’t say that crap out loud right now. You’ve already laid the groundwork for losing.
