The good
We took more downfield shots than any time in Jimbo’s time at A&M. The receivers look damn good.
The defense looks nasty. DL & DB are damn strong.

The bad
I’m worried about LB depth. They’re a step behind the other units. Cooper is pretty legit but White and Russel are not. Not sure who we have after that.

The ugly
The OL was flat out awful when it came to run blocking. Foster was out and Robinson was no where near 100%, but we should still be able to run on Sam. That has to be fixed ASAP.

King’s gunslinger mentality is a blessing and a curse. He threw some risky deep balls. It worked a few times (2 60+, 1 40+ Yarders) but he also had 2 picks and a couple more that could have been picks.

Gave up a couple of big plays but otherwise happy how the defense played after last year. QB looked ok but think Drink needs to get a play caller he's not impressing me so far.

The offense was as efficient as I expected it to be, and I think as soon as Edwards becomes more comfortable and if Milton can get and stay healthy, the heavy ground game will figure itself out to balance McIntosh's wiggle and catching ability.
The secondary is the strength of the defense, though the DL is not far behind. LBers will need to catch up with game speed as they seemed a step to slow diagnosing QB keepers and outside runs.
