Auburns slow war of attrition on free tailgating.

Every year Auburn makes free parking and tailgating on campus more difficult pushing people farther and farther from the stadium. Every year at the first game you get to find out what the university has decided to eliminate for the football season to suck even more fun from the free tailgating. The last 4-5 years it seems like they have targeted free parking.
This year so far they have eliminated all of the parking and tailgating a long the side of the road on South Donahue.
There was a pull off and turn around in front of Telfair Peet which we've used a lot to drop folks off near the stadium. Today the pull off had barriers blocking it off and the turn around had tailgate guys signage in it.
I've been coming to games and tailgating every home game since my Freshman year in 1994. I'm about to the point I'm not sure I even want to bother going to the games any more.

One of the reasons I stopped going to games.
The tailgate atmosphere that I loved is mostly gone.

I’m shocked they haven’t killed the free RV lot on S Donahue.

The commercial tailgating and pain in the arse blockages have made it not as fun
The new company that bought out tailgate guys does not look promising. I've already heard stories about the staff and frick ups on week 1

You mean you don’t love corporate tents with cookie cutter designs and amenities hosting primarily wealthy families and their friends?

As long as you keep going they will keep bending you over. Send a message.

Pretty soon they'll relegate RVs to an HOA agreement and limit color selection and limit bar b que smokers to the ultra premium tier.
Pre selected purchased tailgates is how you completely kill the atmosphere of GameDay, but that's more than just a GameDay problem, Auburn no longer feels like the loveliest village on the plains, it's rich-folk sanitized too

Oh that makes me excited to see their operation on Saturday for CU-Air Force.

I agree. All the new buildings and developments are exciting, I guess, but also saddening.

Basically you have to pay to park and then tailgate nearby (210-275 for the season).
LINK
Before August 16 or so you could have purchased season parking. There is a priority system.
Now single game tickets are available.
Duncan Drive, Poultry lot have decent places to tailgate. $35 per game, all but PSU have availability.
ETA: The Grove maybe the last great tailgating experience.

I use to park at the Auburn Police Department east of campus.
It was easy egress after games.

Agree…I miss the days of parking on sidewalks and walking in the streets. It was a lot of fun roping off and sometimes camping out the night before to secure your tailgate place. We’ve lost a lot so that some can make few extra bucks. Probably won’t be taking the family back anytime soon.

At Ole Miss? The last time I was there it was all run by Tailgate Guys and if you wanted to bring your own shite you had to tote it a 1/4 mile. My triceps and forearms got quite the workout.
