I gotta give Tank props for staying at Auburn.

He’s an amazing talent that, if it weren’t for our current situation, would probably be a Heisman finalist.
We need to ride him early this season until Finley can settle in, if he ever does.

I think he was overrated going into last preseason.
He is underrated going into this preseason.
There is too much flavor of the month in the media.
He is definitely a solid back and there isn't a team in the SEC who couldn't improve with him on the roster.

He single handily lost Iron Bowl and is still an Auburn fan favorite. A lot of respect for Tank.

He had 18 carries for 68 yards and 1 TD against us... our rush defense wasn't that great.
But whatevs.

Well, kinda. His decision to go out of bounds is the only play in the game we can point to and say with certainty “if that didn’t happen, Auburn would have won.”

Didn’t help that he was running behind a bottom 2 OL in the SEC, and playing in an offense that was no threat at all passing the ball, allowing defenses to key in on him and the run
But whatevs.

He was pulled out of bounds by one of your defenders.

After he bounced an inside dive play, designed to be run in the A gap, all the way to the opposite sideline trying to pick up extra yards. First contact was made just shy of the 40 yard line, approximately 7-8 yards from the sideline - on the complete opposite side of the field from where the ball was put into play.

AUBURN Why Tank Bigsby's Iron Bowl play isn't the Auburn sliding door it's being made out to be
quote:
That meant Bigsby bounced it to the outside. Thanks to a nice block on All-SEC safety Jordan Battle by Auburn tight end John Samuel Shenker, that was a legitimate option. Keep in mind that Bigsby started from the far-right hash, meaning he’s got a good amount of green grass to work with coming back to his left (his cutback to his left was somewhat similar to that rushing score he had in the Georgia game). Bigsby was able to turn the corner. Remember, he needed to get to the 36-yard line for a first down. If he does that, the game is over. Bigsby, AKA the dude who ranked No. 5 in FBS in broken tackles per attempt as a true freshman in 2020 (PFF), has to break 1 tackle to get that all-important first down:
quote:
If you watch the replay, this is the point where Danielson claims that Bigsby needed to recognize that he wasn’t going to get the first down, and that he needed to find a way to slide in bounds. According to Danielson (and others), Bigsby is supposed to flip that switch and know that an arm tackle is about to bring him down and that he’s not going to get the remaining 4 yards to clinch an Auburn victory. In no world is a human being named Tank Bigsby sliding in that moment with what’s seemingly within reach. Bigsby, by the way, came up a yard short of reaching the line to gain as he was pulled out of bounds in atypical fashion by Battle:

Too much is made of that potential first down. The end result was the same - Auburn punted. If Auburn had just taken two knees in a row, the game has a different result. Instead, Bigsby ran out of bounds, and that 99.9% chance to win turned to 0%.

Looks like Arkansas sold out for the Run, made Bo Nix look like a Heisman candidate out there.

I agree 100%. One 1st down (that one) wasn't going to do it.
I had a bad feeling you were getting the ball back and tying it up. Our defense had done all they could do at that point.

He's a good back, but not all that great. Not sure if he would actually be a heisman candidate anywhere else. I didn't watch him that much but he really didn't do much against us last year (41 yards) and we had a serviceable defense.

Yeah and we got our arse beat that day as well. It’s hard to talk shite when you play like we did.
