He’s the guy I wanted if Gus had walked in 2017. Still think LSU screwed up by promoting Eaux over him, even with their 2019 NC season.

But I think the GOBN will have to let him have complete control for him to consider it.

I’m resigned to the fact that Harsin is gone no matter what. if he pulls a 10-win season out of his arse, he walks on his own. If he stumbles to another mediocre to bad year, he gets his $15 million on the way out.

Dave Aranda isn’t coming here so don’t kid yourself. Some of y’all doesn’t care how Auburn looks but perception is everything. When just about every single media outlet and other ADs are talking negative about our administration it just screams run for the hills. I could be wrong but it’s not very often you find multiple ADs publicly comment about the firing of another AD and really not holding much back on their opinions.

So what’s the bad perception?

That our BOT doesn’t know what the heck they’re doing and they need to mind their own business. Even though the AD and the president was different that same board approved the ridiculous buyout in Gus’s contract, the Tuberville diabolical, and this botch investigation on Harsin just to name a few. I don’t think it really matters who the AD is, all of these coaches know the BOT pulls the strings and they’re pulling in every direction but the same direction.

I would support hiring Dave Aranda. He might take the job of the pay is high enough and he gets the control of the program that he needs.

The BOT should pull the strings. Like
I’ve said you want buildings and shite named after you and to help pick the coach donate $80 million.

Every school has a group of PTB. Auburn is no different. Auburn is just rivals with 2 huge media markets, Atlanta and Birmingham.

This has nothing to do with the PTB. They gave him a shot. He stunk the entire time he was here. There has been nothing accomplished under his watch because he couldn’t fundraiser. He couldn’t manage the coaches, he come in like an accountant as his first move slashing the fat as some would say. I hate for anyone to lose their job but this dipshit has been looking since Burgess came in and had to start doing his job for him. Good riddance.

Plus if he’s some great AD he will be snatched up quickly.

My prediction he finds an associate AD spot under some other AD and works in player relations type stuff and we never hear from him again

I agree I would go after Aranda number 1 no doubt. 7 years $60 million. Sink or swim but he will recruit his arse off. Hire a great staff and then you just see what happens.

That is if Harsin doesn’t survive which with his recruiting I don’t see it as possible. Tater Tot got shown the door mid season because his recruiting was as shite. We didn’t want diddy’s leftovers

ADs get fired all the time, but if Auburn does it, oh Auburn is a giant train wreck. Screw them, they all have an agenda. Lots of Auburn folks just eat it up though.

Green sucked that midwestern dick. Was a ND alumnus. Therefore should be given preferential treatment.

Let me clarify. I would also support hiring Aranda but I just don’t see it happening because nobody at Auburn will ever have full control, no matter what they tell us.

You would be surprised at how much autonomy the head football coach really has at Auburn. It’s a lot but everyone has a boss at some point.

And as far as ADAG just wished he would have waited a couple weeks to move on seems poor timing on his part except to do what is trying to be done. Shine a bad light on AU. 2 weeks from now there’s a blurb and it’s gone mixed in game scores.

I get what you're saying, but AU has to have these boosters' money. The facilities and salaries aren't paid with tax dollars.

So, it's a catch-22.

Al.com can burn in hell for how they treat Auburn University …. insufferable garbage published every single day… 6 articles no less on how the Greene situation is some how AU’s fault when clearly AG hasn’t stepped up to the challenge himself. That’s how the professional world works children, if you are not successful in the eyes of your employer you do not get rewarded for the effort.

I'm going to guess none of those articles actually mention that the guy was actively looking for other jobs while here and had several complaints about how he ran things

Corch, the point is our BOT don’t stop there. Why did so many turn us down last time.

Nick told LSU and ultimately Bama he had control of all things football or wasn’t coming and their BOT’s had to back off. Same w/ Kirby. That has to happen for us to move forward.

As a follow up…. 3 of our last 4 coaches all complained about the constant meddling. Other schools don’t have the entitlement we do, we are more like Jerry Jones and the Cowboys

That’s what I noticed. More articles negatively reflecting on Auburn in one day than they gave Greene over the last 4.

I believe Greene was an avg AD That at first ONLY did what the President wanted (Heath) such as:

cut all budgets 10% across the board which was ludicrous as your top revenue producers need every
dollar to stay up on other ADs.

Give Flo a extension and raise undeservedly

Slow walk a new football facility

And to give him all the credit for keeping Pearl was wrong. Those PTB and fans that loved Pearl and his success w our BB program was going to mutiny against Greene if he didn’t stand by Pearl and make sure he was wanted and rewarded for all his success in BB.

GREENE was just not a sports visionist when came to what Auburn needed to be successful in athletics. He was good but not good enough.

AG didn't get fired. He quit when he was told that a decision on his contract would be made after football season. What this is really all about is making sure that he never has the opportunity to hire another head football coach.

Southern Cal become an absolute trainwreck after their last NC appearance in 2005 - probation, AD issues, revolving door HCs, midseason firings, etc.

They managed to pull Riley from OU even as they were primed to join the SEC, and managed to get him by outbidding LSU and the NFL at the same time.

While I agree that hiring Aranda is a longshot, if a new President and AD can convince the guys with the big bucks that the only way we can ever be competitive is to give a good HC the reins and let him call the shots as he sees fit, there’s still a chance.

The alternative is that we remain forever in the hinterlands of the new CFB landscape. I’d be okay with that, but I seriously doubt our PTB would.
