Fearless,
I know you are only half joking about Jimmy Sexton. This whole NIL is a mess. We have very successful businessmen on our board. They do annual and update strat plans every year. They put in strawman plans for "what if" contingencies. NIL in one form or another has been on the horizon for years. How we could have been caught so flat footed befuddles me, absolutely befuddles me.
We should have had a short list of candidates to run it and an entire strawman of an organization chart in place to work with the ceo when hired.
And yes we certainly should have reached out to one of the mega agencies of today. And I even mentioned someone from Sexton's organization.
You need a fundraising division as well as a division that can organize 85 contracts a year, liaise with the coaching staff to give them their allocation for funding each year and let them decide the pay by position.
Unfortunately we chose to berate our "evil boosters" the same ones we convinced to spend 90 million dollars on a recording studio and a barber shop, then convinced them we needed 30 million to get rid of a coach. Im certain they have now reminded us that had we spent 120 million on NIL a blind donkey could have coached us to a national championship.
BUTT no its "cause we aint gots no cruitin coaches, we needs some cruitin coaches".

A snippet of the article
To be fair to Greene, he may have been doomed from the start because he was hired with very little experience at this level by the exploding cigar known as Dr. Steven Leath. Auburn is still trying to repair the damage left by the former president, who signed off on the foolishly fat Gus Malzahn contract extension in 2017 while coming close to cutting loose the wildly popular and successful Bruce Pearl.
It was Leath who directed Greene to cut costs in the athletic department, ironic considering the money pit the president’s mansion became thanks to Leath’s exorbitant renovations. Greene’s well-intentioned cost-cutting measures, such as busing the football team to South Carolina and making a significant cut in the size of the academic support staff for athletics, tended to alienate coaches and prominent supporters alike.

Thanks so much for the article summary. I wanted to read it but can't stomach paying money to Al.com. They rarely if ever have anything decent to say about Auburn.

It was free for me on the AL.com app.

When someone needs to be called out for stupidity they get called out. Thank you for donating, but it doesn't shelter you from righteous criticism, especially when you are fricking the overall brand of the university and football program.

If the boosters want to win and they want to pay for it, I’m okay with them. Yeah they tried to go after Harsin and failed, but that’s all I’m concerned about. Why did they fail?

They won't fail this time, right around the holidays

Would they run ADAG off if they thought there was any chance Harsin will be retained?

You could say that ADAG has been gone since Dec. 2020.

Need a new AD first, then will tell him, so it looks like he hired that new coach

So, they’ll hire the new AD first, the PTB will tell him, he’ll tell you, and then you’ll post it on this board.
Got it.
Got it.

Common sense tells me, and any other Auburn fan this dickhole

Just joshing, Poke. No reason to go to the dark side. It's all just family here (and a couple of alters).

What is the history of Tim Jackson and why is he so polarizing. I don’t need speculation, but facts.
JGT says 65% likely he will be the guy. Another candidate that he is hearing is Randy Campbell.
I’d like to hear about Tim though. Could he and the PTB walk in step?

I think he handled business to make sure Auburn was in clear with the whole Cecil Newton bs, if I’m not mistaken.
