Will drink open the play book against La Tech?

Or will he play it more conservative and wait until we face K-state?

One of the markers of our talent and cohesion on offense will be if Cook can move the offense and score points without resorting to special plays.
Line up, run behind the blocks.
Line up, run the routes better than the defenders.

I think he'll open it as much as he can and that maybe all of it.
ETA: if we're up by a lot he won't show all of it

I think he only opens it up if he has to.

Tyler Badie is not on the team and Luther Burden is.
Yes, we open it up.
Yes, we open it up.

How are we defining "open it up?" I thought that meant break out all of the eccentric/trick plays to keep the opponent guessing. Are you interpreting it to just mean "pass the ball?"

Yeah, I should have clarified, I do think we will pass more.
As far as creativity, no, even if Drink has the plays ready, why would he use them on LA Tech?

I guess I should clarify. I mean, we insert more interesting plays than just running it down the middle. We'll go for it on 4th and 1 if we're across the 50, etc.
Remember when Pinkel would try to be more reserve with the offense when we had Chase, J-Mac, etc? Especially in the non-con. Curious, if Drink goes that same route or if he pulls out all stops and just unleashes hell on La-Tech.

I think he does whatever it takes to get the W and move on. he wont show anything he doesn't have to other than the ability to pass on passing downs.

He needs to do whatever it takes to win the game

Hell yea. Let's just go freaking win the whole thing.

I like this strategy. Winning games.
Let’s go.
Let’s go.

Not every play needs to come out, but Cook needs to establish cohesion with the WR group. So I’d like to see the ball go down the field in larger than 10 yard chunks.

Pinkel was the HC for a long time. Drinkwitz just started and that COVID-19 did mess up with the regular process. Give him more time to get his players all on the field at the same time. It will be next year that should be more likely the year to start expecting more on opening the playbook and to get the feel for the SEC in general.

I realize this is probably a standard response to any reporter's question like this but in yesterday's presser when asked something to the effect of OP's question, Drink said 100% of the playbook would be used as needed.
What the hell else was he going to say though?

I wonder at what point in the season teams start kicking away from Burden as a punt/kick returner?
It's going to happen for sure.

Burden in the Wildcat was different.

Burden with the ball in his hands is a game changer. Just need the QB to get it to him through the air
