NIL-Auburn was Auburn’s first main collective before the company sold to OTV this summer.

OTV now plans to ramp up efforts to market and grow the collective. Expect to see OTV sponsored video board messages inside Jordan-Hare Stadium at all home football games, for example.

“The Auburn family recognizes the need for Auburn to excel in all of our sports,” Whiteside said. “NIL is the game-changer. Student-athletes are looking to play at schools that are offering great NIL opportunities. As they happen, it will attract the right type of student-athletes. They will fall in love with Auburn, but knowing auburn has a fanbase that gives back — that will really resonate. As the collective grows and those opportunities expand, the student-athletes will realize Auburn is a place they can reach all their dreams.”

Adherence to all NCAA, state, or any other guidelines is of paramount importance to Whiteside.

“This collective has pillars of transparency as well as compliant with the rules,” he said. “We’re going to make sure everything that’s done within the rules and policies that Auburn sets up. I look forward to working with them to make sure we’re compliant.”

Whiteside is no stranger to Auburn, having been an important piece of Malzahn’s staff. He’s thrilled to return.

Brett Whiteside joined the Mizzou staff as Chief Recruiting Officer in February, 2021. He leads Mizzou’s recruiting operations while serving as the program’s liaison to several athletics and University areas.

Whiteside comes to Mizzou after working for Gus Malzahn at Auburn since 2013. He served as Director of Recruiting Operations before being promoted to Director of Football Operations. In that role, Whiteside was responsible for budget oversight, team scheduling, organizing team travel and day-to-day operations. Whiteside served as the liaison to athletics administration, Tigers Unlimited, business office, compliance, media relations and University departments.
