Legit Question from a UGA fan with no beef.

This will be his 5th season at AnM. Outside of 2020, he hasn't had any "good" seasons.

Recruiting has been great, not just this past year, but it's been good even before that. The talent is on the roster to do great things.

You look at recent history, say the last 25 years, any SEC coach that didn't win the SEC in their first five years, eventually never did. I think Tuberville might be the exception. But that's getting past that 25ish year mark.

You guys haven't even been in the SEC championship much less won one.

The purpose of this post isn't to rub it in... it's to gauge your feelings on Jimbo. Going into this year does he have to deliver something great? Or will your fans and boosters be fine with one more year of mediocrity, rolling into year 6 with Jimbo in 2023?

For most schools he would be but since aTm accepts mediocrity and poor leadership I doubt it

No, he just won a recruiting national championship and has like $9 million dollars a year guaranteed for 9 more years.

Why would he be? He consistently meets Aggy expectations by going 8-4 every year.

Then during years where cardboard cutouts of dogs are more plentiful in the stands than humans, watch out! He’ll finish in 4th place!

The only way Jimbo gets on the hot seat is if Texas joins the SEC and regularly beats A&M

I heard him say he wants to surprise people this year so I think that means he’s going to forfeit twice.

LSU fired Miles for getting the same results as Jimbo.

Difference is Les won Division, Conference, and National Championships at LSU.

Also Les undefeated against Aggie.

Jimbo 2-2 against LSU.

Aggie should demand more but they’re cool with where they’re at.

Jimbo is in a win-win situation. Stay and coach you win. Get fired still winning.

Not if he gets fired for cause like Pruitt. With the recruiting scandal stuff you have to think a competent administration would be putting together a dossier on a number of things as an insurance policy. The dossier wouldn't even necessarily have to be legit stuff, it would just have to be enough for Jimbo to throw a clot and stroke out.

What I am saying is that he has about $100 million in the bank to cushion things.

Not even close. Aggies get so excited about media attention and one good win season we fall for the "next year" hype. As long as he talks about his ranch, keeps his distance from any scandle and that team in austin keeps losing then 8-4 is fine with most of us.
I am not saying he should be on the hot seat, but the overall complacency with our fans sickens me.

I think their fans are just waiting/hoping for a Jameis Winston type year where they can play Auburn again for the natty.

Agreed except for this line. Miles got much better results.

In 4 seasons, he exceeded expectations twice (including an Orange Bowl win, and one season with a top 4 finish), failed to meet expectations once, and did as well as could reasonably be expected with our QB situation last year. He's also totally transformed the roster.

He's nowhere close to the hot seat.

You can always tell which Aggy fans have never seen their team win a goddamn thing.

Because it’s every single one of them

So Aggies are claiming a phantom Orange Bowl win now?

Jimbo Fisher has won more BCS bowls in 4 years at A&M than your coach has in 32 seasons as a head coach.
