So which game are we going to show up and look like we totally forgot how to call blitzes, cover a slant or switch when 2 receivers run a rub route?

Yea, I believe they will be locked in all season as well. As long as we stay healthy, I think this defense will show up every game.

They will be up for the Tx game. First SEC game will be the barometer. Lesser opponent that they slack off on.

This group has absolutely no excuses to make mental errors this year. The experience returning along with coaching continuity should make this a really good unit. Communication should NOT be an issue.

The way players were talking today, I think they spent lot of time in offseason correcting lot of stuff... there shouldn't be that many mental errors going forward.... I expect Defense to be so nasty by halfway through season.

The defense can’t be record breaking because of the rules against it, but it will be dominate and the best in college football today. Bet on it, mark in down, revisit this post in December. We gonna wreak shite.

History has shown thatonce we have a group that has some years together defensively they become a shitdown unit by their jr/sr year. This group can fit that 2011, 2015-2016 groups.

I'm the same way. While I want to believe that they will achieve GOAT-level status on par with 1992, 2011, and 2016, I still need to see them play someone before I start making grand pronouncements.

I mean, yes absolutely.
I have faith they'll be very good and will probably be elite by year end. I don't have faith we won't have 1-2 games where we just forget how to play defense. I have to be proven wrong on that before I buy in.
