Jacksonville is what makes the game fun.

I get that for Georgia fans. I mean, they take a full week end and go to the beach or party. But it is so close to Florida's campus it just doesn't seem like it would be that special.

It will no longer be set for Halloween weekend. It can be shifted/moved to the front end or back end of the schedule at any given year.

I had not heard that. Is that a definite? When did that come out?

It will be no bigger than your Aub/Tenn rivalry game.
Is that a rivalry?

Thanks for answering the question.

I just wish they were honest with themselves.

I want them to look at their schedule and point to a game they look forward to the most and tell me what game that is. I’m willing to bet 90+% of them look at the Florida game and say it’s because it’s a fun rivalry that’s played in Jacksonville.

I don't care where it's played. I always just watch it on tv. For me...I look forward to the Florida game more than any other on our schedule, though.

It's the "United States Military Academy" and "United States Naval Academy". Fans and members/former members are all across the nation, they aren't overwhelmingly centralized close to the campus. Sure there's alums and fans of UF and UGA you can find elsewhere but nowhere as concentrated as they are near the schools.

Neither Florida or Georgia are the "United States University of Florida" or "United States University of Georgia"

Doesn't have to be crippled for it to be hampered, and nobody wants to hamper their recruiting efforts. Try not to be obtuse. How many on here would like to see their rivalry game put off limits for recruits to be at?

Sorry man. I don’t think Georgia’s recruiting is appreciatively hurt by it. If Bama started playing Tennessee in Lynchburg do I think recruiting would take a hit? No I don’t.

Jax. is 1 hr. from Gainesville.
Atl. is 1 hr. from Athens.

How is 1 acceptable but the other not?

WTF does politics have to do with it.

Apparently you do care because you haven't offered an option of any place but Jax..

For crying out loud, the WLOCP has always been about the fans.

Have you guys ever experienced RV city or road on a boat to a game? These are unique for this annual rivalry.

The thought of having it in Atlanta is laughable. The vast majority of Florida fans live in South Florida. The vast majority of Georgia fans live in Atlanta. Cool. That’s about equal distance of driving to Jax. The rest are spread out. Jax is as close as it gets to a border game. Do you all want this game played in Miami? Think that would be fair?

Game isn’t moving, nor should it be moved. Smart is just a whiny bitch. Do you see Napier complaining, or any previous Florida coach complain?

Napier wants to experience it first before making a comment.

Because it’s not about the game being in North Florida, it’s about the game being very close to South Ga. It’s extremely important to that area.. which some still don’t understand., there is no reason to play it in Atlanta.. zero. They don’t need or deserve to have the game.. that’s right DESERVE to have the game . Atlanta has so many other events, South GA has this 1 thing.

The game should be in Jacksonville or Athens or Gainesville.. those are the only options.

Unlike Tebow, I did attend a UF / UG game in Athens and in Gainesville. The Jacksonville experience is unique and the best place for this rivalry.

BTW, the Gators hung 50+ on the mutts in Athens and in Gainesville those 2 games.

Steve Spurrier was the Goat when it came to beating Jawja.

Now when Kirby faces 95% gator fans in the swamp he will remember why a 50/50 ticket split was a good idea.

His team is so talented right now all he can think about it recruiting. That will pass.

Well, our head coach believes it is, so....
I mean, think about it. What if MState could not host recruits for the Egg Bowl. Do you think it might have an affect on your recruiting? All it has to do is affect one player for it to hurt.

I doubt recruits have been lining up to see Alabama smoke Tennessee the past few years. How about the Iron Bowl?

this is bigger than our head coach. UGA Football as an overall institution is much, much bigger than kirby, or herschel, or any other individual man. UGA/UF belongs and jacksonville and our head coach thinking it somehow hurts recruiting shouldn't and won't factor into it anyway.

As with everything else in CFB over the last however many years, any and every single minute little decision is about money. Not tradition, not fans, not equity, not the stduent athlete. Money. Period. Whenever the day may arrive that the people at the top make more money on this game being H/H instead of jax, that's when it'll move. Not becuase kirby wants 14 home recruiting days over a 2-season stretch instead of only 13.

Wait. Are you saying the vast majority of Florida fans are not within an hour of the campus?
You're joking, right?

So the "vast majority" of Florida fans are down around the University of Miami and not around Gainesville?

I don't think so, either.

Thsi si just dumb. It's pretty common in business for people to point out positives and negatives when trying to negotiate contracts.

Of course not. The game is played within an hour of your campus.

I mean...like I said. I don't care where it is played, but it's easy to understand why some people want it at a more central location....or at a home and home basis.

I keep asking and can't seem to get an answer. With the game being an hour from Florida's campus it can't be for some special trip. So why are Florida fans so adamant about it being help in JAX outside of tradition?
