What's your criteria for 'successful'?

SEC championships, National Championships, BCS appearances, SEC championship game appearances. I think Florida has them beat in most of those catagories.

I'm not much of a fan of that board. Just saw the article proclaiming UGA and LSU as the 2 most successfull teams over the past decade and found it odd. Hell IMO Tennessee might have more of a bid for that then UGA does.

Florida's One National Championship pretty much trumps anything that Georgia can bring to the party.

Well that's all well and good but, given the option between a better W/L% or a National Championship, I know which one I'm picking.

Probably could be said out of the 3 major sports and not just football.

Here's how the College Football Data Warehouse ranks Div 1A teams for the period from 2000 - 2007:

if you're going back to 2000, Georgia and LSU, Georgia has a better record than Florida and has won the SEC as many times. Florida may have won the MNC but UGA had a 13-1 year as well in 02 you can't say for sure 06 UF was better

no...ill take uga and lsu in baseball and florida and kentucky/tennessee in basketball, but will stick with the agreed opinion of lsu-uf in football (uga 3rd fwiw).

LSU by far # 1
Georgia has been good but Fla's 1 national champship is greater.

Georgia was 13-1 in 2002, the same record LSU had in 03 and UFAG in 06, they just were unfortunate as there were two undefeated teams ahead of them

2 huge problems with those rankings.

1.Look how much harder USC's schedule is compared to everyone else. No way in hell that's even close.

2.Why are LSU and USC even on championships?

On the points chart, I believe LSU should have 100 national championship points and USC 50, not 100. They only have one crystal ball.
