My life doesn’t revolve around TD so I’ll take that ban bet. You guys are focused so hard on the petition and not enough on what it’s actually doing. It’s more than a petition and will more than likely be viewed as an act of legislation when this is in court. There are also specifics under the Health Emergency Act that will also make it difficult for the petition to really work.
I’m not advocating that we continue to wear masks and have restrictions, I’m simply providing insight into this situation and people are getting butt hurt. You guys have really have no clue. The courts have and will continue to support JBE’s COVID response.

For the record, numerous names on that petition were pressured into signing it and are already crawfishing. You will see soon enough how much of a waste of time the petition was.

A couple of things:
The petition itself is a big production and PR move
These businesses that fight the restrictions in court have lost and will continue to lose all while occurring legal fees. The question is what happens after that. Will officials actually step in and stop them from operating by force.

Allow me to clarify by what I meant when they rushed and made an emotional decision. I can tell you with absolute certainty that most republicans on this petition knew good and well that if it didn’t go to the senate it would lead to an immediate legal challenge by JBE, which he will win. They knew it had no chance to gain support and pass in the senate, so they decided to push it forward anyway after getting an opinion from Landry. They rushed to make an announcement as a PR move before JBE and his team could talk about its validity or lack thereof.

I agree. I actually think he’s more frustrated at the time and money that will be put into this issue in court. Ultimately, he will win. If you’re going to the political dungeon to find a measure that will support this petition, then you better get it right.
The republicans in the House rushed and made an emotional decision. Honestly, I’m not pro or anti the petition, but I believe this will backfire on them. Ultimately, JBE will feel more empowered as he will have the courts behind him. He actually already has them behind him. I just hate the false hope this petition has given people. I’m sure they feel vindicated that some are standing up against JBE’s response to COVID, but making a stand and actually winning in court are two entirely different things. People should prepare themselves to be disappointed.
