Asking for a Texas friend; once they move to the SEC, who will retain “UT” as their abbreviated name. I am telling him Tennessee will because a) they have tenure in the conference and b) they are an older school. What will the majority fan base say?

Not sure about the abbreviation, but the interlocking “UT” & “T” logo rights were legally settled in 1986.

Tennessee could use the interlocking “UT” east of the Mississippi River & when playing LSU. Texas had rights to the west of the Mississippi River & has exclusive rights to the “T” logo leaving Tennessee to “adjust & round off” their “T” logo.

Texas changes to TU. It fits with OU. Problem solved.

Tennessee fans have been trying their damndest to be worse than the Sips recently.

Nevertheless, Tennessee shall remain UT while Texass will be UTjr.

Now that Nebraska is in the B1G it has made that championship more intense the past decade or so ago. Big Red has some big farm girl bowlers.

If I had a dollar for every thread Aggies start about Texas and LSU, I’d have enough to buy a #1 recruiting class

Texas. Obviously. National brand, owns their state- they’ve earned it. Tennessee is done and has already started gathering consensus around UTk.
