Considering Tennessee hasn't played in over a week and there are five threads on the front page about Tennessee baseball I think you have your answer.

quote:The question is poorly asked. If a school has a baseball team then yes, they are a legitimate baseball school....now...a legit power ? That's another question. They have been the last two years but so have many teams for two or three years or more. They could be cellar dwellers in 4 years, so who knows.

Most wins this decade by far. Feelsgoodman.

Ehhh, I effing hate them but there was zero doubt which fan base took over Hoover this year. I will, in a rare moment of honesty, admit some penis envy.

Do people consider Alabama a legitimate baseball school?
Not a flame of Bama, but the last time Bama won a game in Omaha was 1999.
When was the last time that ut knoxviLLe won a game in Omaha?
2001.
So if ut knoxviLLe is considered a legitimate baseball school, then Alabama should be as well, since their most recent success in the highest level of the sport is only 2 years apart from each other.

Yes Tennessee has incredible talent when it comes to the baseball program. Are you considered a baseball school when you had the most talent possibly ever on a team and didn't even make it to Omaha? You made it last year and went 2 and BBQ. If you ask Tennessee they would still consider themselves a football school, they all think next year will be a repeat of 1998.

Correct, they are in fact not a baseball school.

I get the feeling they are not and are only a hopeful program

They finished the year behind 4 sec west teams. I mean not bad considering the pathetic baseball facilities they have.

Well they are the only school on the country to hav back to back 50+ win seasons. And for UT to be on your mind a week after there season ended speaks for itself. Glad UT is still the most popular team being talked about while the College World Series is on.

It’s been longer than just 2 years. Vitello took over a team that won 7 sec games and had very little talent. And 2 years later he was in a regional. Since Vitello arrival at UT he has done nothing but go up. Don’t count on UT falling off. This season was supposed to be a rebuild year and all Vitello done was win 57 games with a freshman weekend rotation, 6 new position starters.

LSU most definitely not a powerhouse anymore. Vitello has owned LSU since 2019. I believe UT currently holds a win streak of 6 consecutive games through 2 Head coaches.

The baseball facilities are changing. Upgrades have already started. Imagine Vitello recruiting with the top facilities considering what he’s dealing with now and still bringing in top players?
