Not bad to go 57-8 in a rebuilding year ;)

He’ll be accepting his award at the local Hooters

From 2nQ in Omaha to Super Regional Runner-Up.

So it wasn't the best team ever?

Is winning 57 games and nearly clawing his way to Omaha with a weekend rotation that had 0 career SEC starts entering the year the greatest coaching job in modern college baseball?

Normally you were above this type of stuff but even you got sucked in

I would argue it is.
Two true freshmen and a Sun Belt transfer sophomore in the weekend rotation and many of Serrano’s unheralded recruits in the starting lineup and the man almost made it all the way to Omaha. Preseason #34 by one publication iirc. Just phenomenal.

I have never seen a team elicit so much genuine emotion otb. It’s incredible how mad people get about a college baseball team. When the Tommy Tanks transfer becomes official I assume we’ll get a Serraneaux thread.

future Missouri tiger head coach.
Although maybe I don't want him. I don't follow baseball but it sounds like you guys were good and chocked, again?

Bianco has been getting eliminated in the Supers for years now. Where's his COY award?

How did the most talented team in the country, with the national coach of the year, not even make it to Omaha?

Making it to Omaha should be a prerequisite for National Coach of the Year.

In fairness, it's hard to recall a team as universally shitty and immature in their conduct. It would have to be baseball, basketball or some individual athlete. You can't achieve those levels of uniformity in CFB.

Laughable.
This team still had multiple Serrano players in the starting lineup and a very green pitching staff. Was always a rebuilding year. To even make it out of the regionals was a huge credit to Voltello.

Since he’s the best, he’ll be coaching in the World Series, right?
