Missouri St switched hotels in Stillwater because of how disgusting their rooms were.

These were shared on social media.

They Found Bed Bugs too.

Here is the motel

And they walked to a new hotel in the night.

As bad as that is, something potentially worse is happening in Statesboro. There is a hotel shortage. UNCG is having to stay an hour or more away in Savannah. Not sure if it's the NCAA or the hosting school that handles this, but this is a major oopsies.

That's disgusting.

Oklahoma State is a proud baseball program with a new stadium, nice facilities and great fan support too.

I think this just speaks to how terrible Stillwater, and the state of Oklahoma, is in general

Why are they staying in Stoolwater when so many hotels in OKC and is closer? Bad decision making went cheap?

Edit: I mixed up tourneys had brain freeze tgought it was softball/OKC tourney but didn’t check the school name. Stoolwater still sucks though.

Because OKC is an hour away. Being close to the field is a huge plus. The 2nd game each day could be pushed. Rain delays and you want to head back to your room. Eliminate 2+ hours a day sitting on a bus.

I am fairly certain that the teams don't book their rooms. The NCAA and/or hosts do.

sounds like a microtel issue to me. Why should the host school be punished because of that?

OKC is 50 miles away. Not ideal for a tournament. Guthrie would be about as far as you'd want to go. Getting spaces reserved at appropriate hotels is part of the responsibility of the host team, and is supposed to be included in the bid. Next time OSU bids, this should be considered.

The host site should be able to provide basic necessities. Is a clean room, somewhat near the field a lot to ask?

If Stillwater can't do that then OSU's bid should have been in OKC at Bricktown.

Thank you. That is what I thought, but didn't know it for a fact.

You get what you pay for, Missouri State. If you hate garbage hotels, stay somewhere nicer. If your athletics department only has the budget for a damn Microtel and that isn't sufficient, maybe college athletics aren't for you.

Go read the thread again and figure out what you said is completely wrong.

I'm not expert on Stillwater other than what I've read and heard from BXII and ex-BXII fanbase, but even with the small nature of the town it looks like there are plenty of hotels that are nice enough for something like this (assuming they had open rooms).

- Hampton Inn/Suites
- Home2Suites
- Atherton Hotel (on campus hotel)
- Residence Inn
- SpringHill Suites
- Holiday Inn
- regular Hampton Inn

Looks like either they had to go way down the list due to hotels being booked or they just tried to be super cheap with Microtel. Either way, not a good look at all.

With that said, I just perused the reviews and almost all the recent reviews are decent. So who knows.
