ATM still won't win West, much less the SEC, and this class will be forever known as the biggest waste of talent (and NIL $$$) ever.

If tRant thought that there wouldn’t be 1,000 threads about it.

There pressure to win for Jimbo and A&M is at an all time high and there really isn’t a close 2nd. They essentially asked for it. We’ll see how he and his players handle it.

The pressure has always been there but most people at Texas A&M were realistic in the belief that the ability to win big at A&M wasn’t a 3 year project. I do agree that as the pieces come together for a championship caliber team the pressure is getting dialed up. Anything less than a 10 win season from here on out is unacceptable.

No
The only reason he’s attacking A&M bc they are a threat to him. Nice try.

This will be the test for Jimbo because after his NC at FSU things started to derail especially with Winston and other top players on the team with in the locker room and negative culture around the program. Now he has to deal with these type of players from day 1 and combine that with Texas soon be in the conference it will only add more pressure. Anyone outside of the a&m program can see the need for a&m even more so now to position themselves to stay ahead of Texas.
So NIL created an opportunity to hopefully push them to the next level but if Jimbo fails to produce it will be interesting to see what happens.

There haven’t been 1,000 threads about A&M since signing day? If it was a done deal A&M is going to go 8-4 from here on out people wouldn’t be crying about such an irrelevant program each and every day.

Jimbo's meltdown at the end of his time at FSU was adorable. Fans wanted him gone. Will history repeat itself?

Next time, be more specific.
1000 threads about aggies since signing day - yes
1000 threads about aggies and them not winning the west - doubtful
1000 threads about aggies paying for players - no
But i will say this.... if a title doesn't land in college station, some contributors to all your success are going to get rowdy.

I agree to some extent, but you have to admit that the FSU debacle can’t be entirely Jimbo’s fault. FSU hasn’t been remotely relevant since he left with 2 different coaches.
Since you bring up Texas, that seems to be a similar situation to FSU. By the same standard you could say that Mack Brown left the program in disarray and that’s why they’ve had 5 losing seasons including his last. It’s not Mack’s fault, that’s an organizational problem. We will see if they can rebound but I don’t think its a coaching or roster problem there.

Then why is Nick scared, lashing out?
It’s almost like he has had every advantage at Alabama to just keep landing #1 class after #1 class, then the landscape changed and he recognized that he’s losing his advantages, and getting panicky, begging Alabama donors to step up.

Maybe from the big cigars paying the bills. The average fan is still concerned we don’t have a QB. All these recruits are true fish as well so not realistic to expect they’re immediate studs.

I will say it was though based on the reports out there.
quote:
Florida State had the worst Academic Progress Rate score of any Power Five program, and was actually on the verge of an automatic postseason ban. Reportedly, Fisher had given his assistants a mandate to "keep players eligible" above all else; athletic director Dave Coburn conceded as much. Fisher's successor, Willie Taggart, was stunned at the apparent laissez-faire attitude toward academics when he arrived, and instituted immediate changes. Several former assistants from Fisher's tenure believed the casual attitude toward academics were part of a larger erosion of discipline that gradually led to a sense of entitlement.
His focus was on winning at all cost. After the NC it went down hill especially in the locker room. Even when Winston was suspended he showed up on the field dressed out to play. Jimbo told him to leave and that he was not allowed to dress out and Winston refused. Eventually he did leave but Jimbo was not in control of that program going forward.
Maybe some of the fault was on the boosters who were expecting results and it added to much pressure for Jimbo but either way in his last stint when the expectations were high it did not go well.
Now if with NIL if you think sense of entitlement is not going to be an issue you are naive. Hopefully Fisher can handle it better this go around but I actually think the pressure will be greater now as he has no excuse with unlimited resources.

Agree. 39'er couldn't do anything on merit so they're trying to buy a title. Saban absolutely schooled dumbo with his comments. The goat playing chess while dumbo is playing marbles. 39'er desperately trying to get the jump on UT before they're once again relegated to little brother status once again.

I guess you are talking about Coach Saban.
Last year was his weakest team, yet he won the SEC, led in the 4th quarter in the title game.
Yeah TexasAM is a threat....

My understanding is it may have been prompted by a recruit requesting UA to match and the timing was not good on Saturday. But in the end Saban is not scared but stubborn, which makes him slow to change, but once he does he always maximizes the benefits from the changing landscape. History has shown that enough.
If it makes you sleep better to think Saban is scared go for it but in the end UA will come out on top.

Off season boredom nothing more. Once the season starts most will focus on that. It is what it is.
