Do we all agree that?

1). Something has to be done about forming a least a primitive set of guidelines for NIL for the benefit of the schools, coaches, and kids.
2). All major college football programs have been enticing players with more than scholarships for a long time. Some inevitably more so than others.
3). Saban made an untactful accusation, Jimbo had an unflattering response.
4) There is peril of losing a sport we all enjoy, and it is already gone too far but none of us has abandoned it yet altogether in disgust lest we wouldn’t be spending time on this forum?

Did you expect Aggies to agree to something that is their only hope to sniff a championship?

No.
There are billions being made off college athletics. Time to pay the people doing the work. (I meant the players, not the coaches.)

Let’s go back to paying under the table like god intended.
Think of all the churches in the southeast that will benefit.

Nope tbh, the kids should make as much as possible, we have to adapt, it’s an unpopular opinion here but oh well, this idea that the game is ruined is crazy to me, still the same game, what’s the problem? That the team getting talent are changing? If a kid wants to play for a Miami instead of Bama bc of money, so?
The idea that kids want to win championships is outdated now, kids probably want to get paid and get into the league in that order school third
With that said, I think other changes like playoff expansions, maybe require transfers to sit a year, other stuff we can control can be done, but the whole pocket watch kids is a no for me

So you think it’s good for the sport to have no rules for fair competition? I know they’ll just be violated as they always have been but at least there is some threat of punitive realities. I mean right now there is no governing authority.
I’m not making a statement about kids getting paid or not or some salary cap. I don’t care what they make or don’t make. But you at least have to have rules or you don’t have a sport.
Even pro leagues have trade deadlines, free agency rules, labor arbitration, etc. A&M’s coach thinks you need rules.

Fair? You think college football fans outside the sec think it’s fair for 2 sec teams to make the playoffs? You think it’s fair for the pac 12 to keep missing the playoffs even tho they play more conference games thsn us? This is an inconvenience for your team at best bc in the grand scheme of things, college football fans outside us probably think this sport was ruined before nil

I can’t speak to what other fans think is fair.. you can’t make it equal because Montana is never going to have the advantages that Ohio State has. But you can make the rules clear and have a playoff system that gives every team a clear path of what they need to achieve to reach the playoff. I’d be in favor of that.
I’m not worried for UGA. They’ll be fine. I’m worried for college football. You can ruin a good thing if you don’t address competition rules. Look at MLB, they’re still trying to come back from the labor issues of no salary cap, no league consistency that culminated in the strike of 94. The NFL had a salary cap and Kansas City has as much opportunity as New York to win the SB. It’s a nation wide sport followed in places other than 7-8 major cities. And that Revenue is about 2.5x that of MLB when 30 years ago baseball was THE behemoth in American pro sports.

5). Alabama paid millions for the whole team beginning in 2008
6). Kirby Smart raised that amount beyond THIRTY MILLION per year at the THUGa of THUGs
7). Things are WAY out of control thanks to these coaches playing to buy championships.
8). There is not a GD trace of integrity in Tuscaloosa, Athens. College Station, you name it though it appears certain who is involved with the massive cheating.

No scholarship athlete should be able to even entertain an NIL deal offer until AFTER they are enrolled in classes at their university.

If Kirby paid 30 million for a recruiting class I think that would be tough to hide in the hands of 18 year old boys. That number is nonsense. I don’t have any problems believing UGA slid some cash under the table over the years. I’m sure they have. As I’m equally confident Auburn has. What’s amusing to me is that you don’t group Auburn in with these “scumbags” paying players when they’ve been caught doing it repeatedly, acknowledged in light of abundant evidence that they have, and have been punished for it more than anybody? In fact going back to 1957, at least? Kirby wasnt alive in 1957, Saban was in grammar school.

There has to be some sort of system for NIL. I'd like for it to be tied to completing four seasons at the school who made NIL offer. Would help do away with transfer portal getting out of hand. I was against NIL initially, but I've thought about it and I'd rather have the money being paid to athletes out in the open and on the up and up versus the way it has been done forever. No more bag men. No more Dodge Chargers, Challengers, Mercedes, high paying jobs for unqualified parents, etc.

No surprise that a lowbrow such as yourself attempts to downplay your teams cheating.
and let me be clear about one thing - due to who actually are the powers that be in the SEC and the way the no integrity SEC/NCAA hire bama - the number of violations has virtually ZERO to do with actual cheating.
First Auburn has had no violations in 30 years, when the bama establishment spent money on private investigators setting Auburn up for buying a married player with a family some food - and then talked that idiot into declaring that he was the next Martin Luther King for reporting getting food from a coach.
1957 was an absurdity set up by bama also with players that were set up by bama and never even got on Auburns team.
$30,000,000 paid to players EACH YEAR is very accurate - and he has done it since he got to Athens.
Rush Propst was completely telling the truth: LINK
South Georgia boosters with deep pockets and some key injuries to bama are what bought your "championship"...
but - and you KNOW this
CHEATING AINT WINNING
