This board is hilarious. If any other team in the conference was having the success TN was having this season they would love their coach being cocky and talking shite.

Everyone hates a villain unless the villain is on your team. Reminds me of Marshall Henderson, Cam Newton, Johnny Manziel, Demarcus Cousins, Nick Fairley, Saban, Meyer, Spurrier, etc

Big difference in "being cocky and talking shite" and throwing a bat at opposing players because you're pissed off that you got a taste of your own medicine.

It is without a doubt terrific for the sport to have an elite coach who is so polarizing.

The sport as a whole is difficult to watch for me on a game by game basis due to the skill level of most of the players but it does seem like there is a storyline involving Tennessee every weekend. Almost a WWE type feel. I rarely watch the games but there are 10+ threads about something Vitello or someone on the team did every time I log on on Saturday night-Monday morning.

Maybe but I wouldn’t want my coach assaulting umpires or throwing bats at the other team like a psycho

Kinda strange as no one’s bitched about his words or cockiness.

He’s gotten shite fairly or not for allowing his players to act like brats at times, for his belly bumping the ump and tonight for tossing the bat in the direction of the opposing teams players. I’ve not seen one person say omg did you hear what Vitello said.

I have no problem with people talking shite when they are winning, in fact, it's one of the more fun things in sports. By all mean, be proud of kicking arse and rub your opponents face in it.

What's lame as hell dishing it but not being able to take it. That just makes you a frontrunning douche, which seems to be the case here with Vitello.

I was actually starting to pull for them. They had a great season going and if they won the CWS I would have been happy. I started following their team. The fans on this site and the actions of their coach have changed that. I can't pull for that team and their fan base. I would pull for clemsux in a game with them now. Strange how a group of fans and a coach with a bad attitude can do that. Oh well...another "feel good" sports story that went off the rails.

Most of the people here pearl clutching would crawl on broken glass to have Vitello as their coach.
