Does -15 Georgia sound about right? I think we were -10 @ tOSU last year.
What are your biggest concerns?
Any questions about Oregon, feel free to ask.

Not sure what to think in terms of the spread, but I do think it's an interesting matchup. Obvious callout is the last game we played Lanning was our DC, so he clearly knows our scheme on the defensive side of the ball and is very familiar w/ Monken and our offense. That has to count for something.
Christobal recruited well at Oregon...there's talent on your team for sure. We lose a bunch of players on the defensive side of the ball, but our offense should be better. I'm looking forward to the game. I like these non-traditional matchups between top-tier teams.
Will Ty Thompson be the starter? How do you feel about him?

Hard to imagine we will struggle offensively. We will only have improved on that side of the ball.
Defensively, a lot of young guys that could have some trouble. Assuming your QB will be Nix or someone just slightly better than him, I expect a 37-24 win.

I think -15 would be way too high considering we lost so much on defense and I think Oregon returns nine on offense.
I think the starting spread will be closer to -7.

Ty Thompson has all the arm talent in the world. He didn’t take care of the ball his redshirt year. Apparently he is improved.
I would expect Nix game one. I just don’t see why you bring him in otherwise.

Watch the Fulmer cup before you lay a bet.

You’ll have a chance to score points. We still have some beasts on defense like Carter and Nolan Smith, but we don’t have the depth or experience we did on that side of the ball in 2021.
The key to beating Georgia’s defense is always pass protection.
What kind of defense is Oregon expecting to return? Lanning is a hell of a defensive coach, but does he have anything to work with year one?

We have lost a ton on defense. Offense should be fine.
No idea about Oregon. I like your coach, other than that you'll have to tell me.

The same as yours except he hired a coach on Baylor’s staff to incorporate some of Aranda’s stuff.
The biggest concern on defense is safety. The corner depth could be better. Noah Sewell is the headliner defensive player. The linebackers should be really good and the DL above average to good.

If y’all had a quarterback you could have had a special season

Spread will probably be around -10.
It will be a home game basically for the Dawgs.
Lanning has never been HC, so I expect some in game flubs that GA will take advantage of.
I am interested in watching Sewell

If this staff can develop, we should get that. Seriously, Nix, Thompson and Butterfield were all 95 composite or higher recruits out of high school.
I think Nix is what he is and that’s not a 5 star talent.
Thompson and Butterfield definitely have the arm talent. It’s between the ears for them and hopefully Dillingham is good with qbs. I just don’t know.
Edited: apparently they dropped Butterfield to a 93.

As a point of interest, the only player I am hearing about a lot that’s new to the roster is the WKU RB transfer: Noah Whittington.
LINK
The staff thinks he can replace Travis Dye’s talent. He’s from Peach County High School.
Also, Bradyn Swinson is expected to play a big role at OLB. He’s out of Chapel Hill High School in Douglasville.
LINK
Lastly, Jamal Hill should start at Nickel out of Morrow High School.
LINK
They should all play a lot in the game.

Get back to me after we add from the transfer portal over these next couple of weeks. We aren’t a complete product right now.

PAC 12 teams do very poorly in Central and Eastern time zones.

This goes both ways.

Oregon beat tOSU. Honestly, it probably has more to do with matchups. I haven’t seen Oregon play any different.

Yes, that brings the total number across the conference since 2010 to 4.

So, Oregon has 2 of the 4. The league has been shite. Also, Oregon played better than expected against Auburn.
Edited: we won at Virginia and Tennessee in routes. We played Auburn to the final 7 second and beat tOSU. That’s 3.
LSU did punk us in 2011.

IMO, UGA should be able to run at will and control the clock. But with the TE's and some decent WR's, I think UGA handles business early and controls the game from the onset and wins by 3 scores.
