Lots of smoke that backup QB Coley is gone very soon.
From the way Pitt has talked up Cade Fortin, Coley has likely been passed up in the depth chart and is probably sitting at 4th string right now.
If it happens, would mean we now have 3 schollies to give.

Why the hell didn’t they sign a qb in this last class if they knew Coley wasn’t the answer. Going into the season with one scholarship qb makes me kind of nervous.

2 scholarship QBs right now and one walk on backup, plus an injured walk on back up... And your #2 is lining up at WR.

Meh. Makes it easier to recruit a top tier HS guy IMO.

I think we try to sign a big time HS QB in this class and also go after a decent transfer next offseason. Don’t see Hornsby sticking around another year and apparently KJ wants to leave early if he has another good year.

Why would Hornsby leave if kj leaves for the draft? If he was gonna do that he might as well have left when he entered the portal this year.

Either he progresses as a passer and stays or he transfers down a level to play QB, or switches to WR full time. I just don't have much faith that he'll improve as a passer that much to be a starting QB here. I think he thought he'd get more interest than he did in the portal.

Sam said he had his best day yesterday as a QB so he’s still our #2 it seems.

I think if he settles in he could be a good QB. He is just a run first guy right now. We still haven't seen what he can do arm talent wise. Bring in a transfer and high talent recruit next year and we will see if he can win the job. If not he will look for his shot elsewhere.
