Not just in connection ..he is the main suspect.

As a resident of Oconee this has been a horrible and tragic chapter in our community. Thankful they caught this guy and we can hopefully bring some closure to this tragedy....

I think he played for two and he was still a student up until 2021 according to this announcement.

Nobody knows what OC is, but if you change title to Oconee then people will instantly know what you are talking about.

It's a shame and a testament to the fallen nature of humanity. If he is guilty, I hope he gets the full measure of the law.

An nice young eagle scout working the register at a gas station in affluent area was shot by random psycho almost a year ago to the date but no leads. Until today.

Just a random killing. Walked into the race trac on 78 (IIRC) and shot the clerk and walked out. No motive known as of yet, was presumed gang related.
It’s a legitimately frightening crime and the police sketch that’s been plastered on billboards around the area is rather disconcerting

What Tylerdurden said. The RaceTrac many of you have probably passed just south of Athens Academy and 90% of us who go from Watkinsville to Athens pass it.
It was a very random killing, he stole nothing. It was pre-medidated as he dressed almost as a ninja and this was the days of Masks (Oconee got rid of those much quicker than most) so all he showed was his eyes. Hence the "Why?"
It almost felt like a "gang" murder as he didnt steal anything and just walked up and shot the young man.
What is really strange is now his identity is revealed and he was a UGA student and ex football player is why did he come out to Oconee. Its maybe 10-12 minute drive from Campus and coming from campus its kind of your first major outpost into Watkinsville but why there? If he just wanted to murder someone he passed many many other similar locations. I have a theory but will keep that to myself.
