Josh Pate come out and said it’s basically this:
The Rashadas want to be Gators.
The Rashadas aren’t asking for more money.
A certain $$$ amount was promised and can’t be fulfilled.
What would you do if you were promised a certain amount of money for a job and when you showed up, the employer said he couldn’t pay it?
That’s the situation we’re in supposedly. The GC/GG should just pay it, and chalk it up as a lesson learned.

If true, I can't imagine it getting much worse. If I'm a rival coach I'm telling this story at every stop on the recruiting trail.

I would have to know the true deal with all this. The kid better think hard on this if he is being offered a good deal and doesn't have a backup in place. Someone verbally offering him something they didn't have the right to do would just be tough luck if that happened and they didn't do their due diligence. I think he ends up with quite a bit less than the 1.5 million a year or whatever the real offer is now from another team if he keeps this mess up. Not sure Miami will take him now.
