We are still at least a year away from being SEC good. Add in a new D coordinator and a .500 record is rational, even if it’s on the disappointing side.

That goliath of a question mark at QB makes it very difficult for me to think we will be above .500 this year, but there's a lot of time and opportunity between now and fall camp. We shall see how spring ball shakes out with Cook and Macon, and if the question mark is still there, then I fully expect Drink to hit the portal.

I dont think many have an issue with that but the terrible play calling for loooong stretches were pretty bad. At times he shows a penchant for being creative and putting defenses on their heels with some nice constraint concepts. Then other times he calls the same short passes or non-working run plays over and over and over. It was like he was scared to open the playbook.

Forced? He chose to start an injured, underperforming, and turnover prone Connor Bazelak. Our back-ups were better than him even when he was healthy.

The goal-posts keep getting pushed back, Eli is who is he is. He is a poor man's version of Lane Kiffin. I think he thinks he's this offensive genius but has shown us nothing, literally NOTHING to justify it.

Could also see 7-5 or 8-5 pretty easily. QB is important, but a team can still be decent with average qb play. We can compete with anyone on our schedule but Georgia.

I still say 2023 is when we really find out what we have. The 2020 win against LSU skewed a lot of folks expectations. To me that season does not count. 3 good years is what is needed just to build a good starting point.

Has the offense been haphazard? Yes. But I think it's because he has not trusted his lines. (On either side of the ball frankly) There has been a heavy emphasis on line players this last cycle, and I expect this to continue. The SEC is built around line play, and ours were some of the worst in the conference. The lines are what take longest to build, as opposed to skill positions.

I have watched App state footage. Those were good offenses centered around solid line play. Something we have not had here in quite some time. Odoms biggest failing IMHO was the near total inability to identify and recruit quality linesmen. There are no quick fixs for line play I fear.
