I'm worried about the love and the passion that our fanbases have for the game going away, and that scares me the most."

I doubt it honestly. People cheer for the uniforms in college. It doesn't matter which players are playing. However, the transfer portal combined with NIL creates an even bigger case of the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer. I think you're going to have a handful of superteams, and then everyone else. It was already kind of like that, but I think now it will be even more so

I want to see the best players playing instead of sitting on the bench. In particular, I want to see Stetson Bennett playing for UGA and I want to see what JT Daniels can do somewhere else. I'm a fan of both guys as well as a football fan and a UGA fan.

Just being honest - the window is closing for me.

A lot of people are complaining about the athletes getting paid. I see no problem with it other than that it's bad for parity in the sport.

The fact is college football is one of the biggest money-generating forms of entertainment in this country.
In many cases the training facilities are nicer, and the stadiums bigger than in the pros. It's hugely popular.

Think about how much MLB players get paid, and then consider that college football gets better TV ratings and sells way more tickets.

It definitely has for me. I don't worry about it though, because I am not in the industry. If they want to run it in the ground there is nothing I can do.

It’s already gone... has been weakening for quite a while... AU and the AU community milks every dollar it can from the alumni... it doesn’t have the same genuine feel and passion from the 80s, 90s and early 00s.

NIL plus the loss of tradition is bound to have a negative impact, but as long as ESPN is footing the bill...

We are quickly heading to a place where the football programs separate from the universities. Sad.

The problem isn't the players being paid gobs of money.

The problem is the transfer rule. Get back to where you have to sit out a year and that will solve lots of problems.

Yep, that is going to be the norm for LSU and their fans to be scared!
